We will agree to disagree but Wes had loads up hype coming out. LOADS. (pause). I heard "Sean Spence type Freshman year impact" when people spoke about him. Even if Wes had the same or near same numbers as Spence did his freshman year I definitely know he didnt have the same impact. We knew Spence was going to be a problem after that UF game when he threw Tebow to the ground and looked like he belonged out there as a TF. Never really got that feeling at all this year with Wes.
Im not giving up on him. Im saying this year we need him. Learning curve over. Time to show us something. We cant keep going to the portal because guys we depended on to be ready arent developing fast enough. (looking at you Chris Graves)
We went a decade without a top 10 kid. That’s 100 kids. Not one believing in Miami. Wild.
Lane was a head coach in the PAC for 3 years, at the premier recruiting school at that, and managed 1 10 win season........As someone who wanted Mario, SEC vs PAC is barely comparable
MTSU did the same thing!!!!!!!We tore them bishes down like we just beat the #1 team in the country at home as a D3 school
we talk about swag
but this is real swag
Look you're not wrong but it barely feels like that with FSU. It was a mercy fgWho avoided getting shut out last year. Raise your hand.

Points for boldness, but it doesn’t hold much weight when your team was dog sh$t as well last yearI’m legit conflicted. I don’t whether to be hella upset or hella impressed.
So this would be a first for Mario as well? No Oregon on that list...Also, finishing with another Top 10 class would be a **** of an achievement. Here are the teams who have stacked back-to-back Top 10 classes in the last 6 cycles:
2018-2019:
UGA
Texas
Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma
2019-2020:
Alabama
UGA
Texas
A&M
LSU
Michigan
Florida
Clemson
2020-2021:
UGA
Alabama
Clemson
LSU
Ohio State
A&M
2021-2022:
Alabama
Ohio St
UGA
Clemson
A&M
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
2022-2023:
Alabama
UGA
Ohio St
Texas
Oklahoma
That's all. So you can see how few teams do this back to back years. It's basically 5-6 teams per year. Alabama and UGA are the only 2 teams who have done it for 6 consecutive years. Ohio State is the only team to have done it the last 3 years. You can see how rare this is and how elite the teams are who do it. Back to back in the Top 10 is how you build a program. If Mario can pull it off with a 5-7 season stuck in the middle of it, that's a **** of an accomplishment.
Venables isn't punching down.Y’all sitting in here sucking off Venables who had arguably just as bad of a season as we did. Talking about he’s got balls.
Lmao you guys think Mario wouldn’t get in his **** if they crossed paths at a school (especially in South Florida)? As if Mario hasn’t done that before to an opposing coach? I understand the frustration but some of y’all just get completely illogical, with no recollection of anything positive just because we’re in a slump recruiting.
Good point lol. But he was there for only what 3? I think what he has done in the SEC is extremely impressive.Lane was a head coach in the PAC for 3 years, at the premier recruiting school at that, and managed 1 10 win season........
I would guess he would say top 5 seeing how he thinks we can land 5-6 Top 100 players before the season is played.@DMoney If we had an absolute dream season 10+ wins & a NY6 bowl win how high do you think this 24 class could get.
Is there gonna b any fireworks like u said tHis week or was that BSThere has been a lot of talk about moving the goalposts in terms of expectations. So I figured we could write down some goals in this thread and see how they pan out. Here are mine:
1) Land 3-4 Top 100 Composite players by the start of the season
We have two Top 100 Composite players committed- DE Marquise Lightfoot (62) and RB Kevin Riley (70). This is a goal, not a prediction, but I think we have a chance to add three or four more by the time the season starts. This will help build a base of impact players so we are not overly reliant on flipping. For reference, below is a list of Top 100 players by class in the Composite Era. NFL players are bolded.

2) Put together a season that breeds confidence from fans and outside observers
This one is self-explanatory. I don't have a number- you know it when you see it. The 2016 season is a good example. There were ups and downs, but by the end of the year most people inside and outside the program felt we were headed in the right direction.
3) Finish with a Top 10 Class
If we accomplish Goals 1 and 2, this will put us in a position to flip some targets and land in the Top 10. Miami hasn't landed consecutive Top 10 classes since 2005- nineteen years ago. This is why we brought in Mario. Add in some good transfers and a high-quality transition class in '22, and this should have Miami's roster in position to take another step.
