Ready for the scrimmage

Figuero impressing just makes me want EJ back even more. The competition between them would make both of them that much better.

Oh and.....I'm already very worried about our WRs. I was skeptical from the start with Brennan Carrol taking over the WRs even though he had zero experience coaching/playing WR.

Our WRs have all the talent, they just need to be more polished. I'm concerned that Carroll isn't a coach who can provide that.

I agree! I think BC is not the answer. McDonald improved our units tremendously. I think we will see a big drop off with BC

You guys are full of ****. Our receivers dropped a TON of passes last year but you give McDonald a pass but not Carroll, who was promoted by Golden after working side by side with him.

Agenda ***gotry from the both of you.

Shocking from the two most negative posters on this site, its the first scrimmage relax. We are stacked at WR we will be perfectly fine, not the least bit worried about that position

Im not going to blame Carrol for anything right now. He's only had what 2-3 weeks with them

Danny Isadora was impressive on the o-line today. He worked with the 1s a lot. Golden said he’s down to 308.

We've got some good OL coming in and on our radar but we need guys like Gadbois and Isadora to pan out since we went light on OL there for a bit.

Mike leach & Mark Duper (among others) both use tennis balls to train their WRs to catch and the results are phenomenal. Leach had tennis ball machines out at practice everyday rocket firing to the WR units.

I'd like to see us employ this at practice.

It's only the first scrimmage of the spring, but looks like the fans of South Fla are already in mid-season form.

You went?

Ill write more when I get home but I thought Dallas Crawford and Waters looked really good out there. Alex Figueroa is an exciting talent. Luther looked pretty good as well

I mean, if youre a receiver you either can catch the ball or you cant. Sure there are some techniques here and there that can help with that, but ultimately it comes down to can you fuggin catch or not. One of the last things a WR coach should have to worry about with kids that have been playing WR their whole lives should be teaching them to catch the ball. WR should already know how to do that. WR coaches are for teaching kids route running, reading overages, finding spots, amongst a slew of other things.

You clearly don't know anything about playing WR.

Catching is just as much mental as it is skill/physical. And a good coach can make all the difference with the mental aspect.

Hankerson had a huge drops problem before his junior year when he broke out. He didn't learn how to catch the ball all of a sudden completely on his own. Coaching had a lot to do with it.

Same with Tommy Streeter. And there are numerous other examples I could point out where coaching had a big difference on WRs ability to catch the ball.

U all got me so pumped im ready for AUgust to come!
The WR's need to catch th **** ball. I won't blame Carrol, they dropped a lot of balls last year, but something needs to happen there is no excuse dropping all these passes.

Isadora yea, Gadbois atleast what I saw when he wasnt false starting was getting beat to edge. Good thing he has time but needs some work.

Was there at the scrimmage, and i have to say the o-line didnt look that good to me, a lot of that had to do with injuries, way too many false starts, the core guys did well, some of the back ups have some work to do

The WRs and TEs dropped a lot of balls and morris missed some open guys, but the super star of the scrimmage was alex figueroa, the kid was all over the field, after watching him today im going to take back anything i said about him being average, the kid is a beast, great pick up

Dorsett with a gorgeous 20-yd out. Morris hit him with ease.

Canes putting Sandland out wide. Think Eifert at ND last year [this is not to say Sandland is Tyler Eifert].

Ryan Williams is as stable a backup as a college team could ask for. Pocket poise, even if his field awareness isn’t particularly sharp.
