Rank the new corners

So how does Howard go from the best corner in the nation to be being compared to Brandon Harris? Am I missing something? If he turns out like Harris, I think that is a disappointment.

Harris was a 5* kid and was an All-American type player at Miami.

Why would that be a disappointment?

I know Harris was solid.

But he was never a true lockdown guy.

I guess my expectations for Howard are higher.

Great class for backs. Incredible in quantity and quality.

Put me in the camp that thought Brandon Harris was just an above average corner here.

Harris was alright but as Problem2 mentioned he was no where near being a lock down corner.

i'll second the Harris/Combine/Deion comments from D$.

Deion loved Harris and thought he was the only kid in the whole class that could backpedal and turn. Deion was killing most of the corners about their technique and poor hips. BH was pretty much the only guy he had praise for... and they showed his 10 yard backpedal and hip flip multiple times to show "what good looks like"

You guys are comparing apples to oranges.

If you are talking high school comparisons, Harris is a huge complement. Harris was a great athlete but wasnt the natural corner Howard is IMO.

I'm expecting a lot more out of Howard than I did Harris when he first got to UM. Harris had the off field attributes that you want in a player. Howard will have better coaches and team unity throughout his years here not to mention a proper training table. Harris didn't really do anything game changing while here. Don't get it twisted, he did a decent job of covering but he wasn't the type of player to take over a game. Something we desperately need is a corner to run ish. I think Howerd is the guy.

i disagree that howard will start from day 1.......as i dont think anybody will beat out mcgee and finnie for the opener

while i do expect him to play and hopefully contribute right out of the gate..........i think hope will have an advantage being able to be around for the spring

i think bush probably has the most upside of any of them........but because of his size.......i see him at saftey or LB by the time he leaves

crawford also has insane potential and should wind up being a stud........IMO.....the sleeper of this DB class is davis

there is a reason that davis was only thrown at a handful of times this past season........he isnt the biggest or most physical corner......but he appears to have the tools to be a great shutdown corner

A lot of people's perception of Harris is skewed because folks harp on him for letting up a few catches, but forget that he had a few periods of his career where he didn't have a ball caught on him.

And, I don't think he was ever used properly here either. This was the same Brandon Harris that locked down Josh Jarboe, AJ Green and Julio Jones in HS, yet, was playing in the slot and lined up on smaller wide outs in college.

I don't think Brandon was as good as he should have been at UM, but he was a very very good player, albeit, misused, IMO.

Nice to see chatter about ranking high quality db's...anyone else see similarities between Vernon Davis and former Cane great Phillip Buchannan? I think Davis is going to make a name for himself over the next few years. I hope they all do...

Go Canes!

If they're not going to put Ray Ray at LB there's no way in **** Bush will go to LB.
