That's pretty naive. It's been extremely well documented that Bama what gives out. $200k, a $50k car, and a house for Devonta Smith, who may never even see the field there. Miami can't compete with that, no matter who is on the staff.

Kids like Richards, Lingard, Mallory, and Campbell will turn that down, but we're not going to win them all. Xavier Williams is bought and paid for, and it remains to be seen with Jobe. Saban wants Jobe bad, so there's no telling what he'll offer to try to get him.

If we land Campbell and keep Hall (seems like he's turning down Bama), then losing Jobe wouldn't be that big of a deal. Blades, Frierson, Ivey, Hall, Campbell, and 1 more would still be a ridiculous haul

Do you have any proof of that? That seems extremely excessive for a 4 star recruit.

BrooklynDee broke that news. Posted about it a month or so ago. I agree it's ridiculous. The thing is I don't even think Bama sees Smith as a major contributor (since they have Jeudy and Ruggs in the same class), they just wanted to keep him away from either LSU, FSU, or Miami.

the people with money in this town, which is substantial and a **** of a lot more than in podunk alabama, wouldn't be caught dead within sight of a 17 year old inner city kid and couldn't care less about dropping bags. their identity and sense of self worth doesn't depend upon UM football.

the guys who have resources to contribute in the UM universe do so legitimately, and the guys who would be willing to drop bags, don't have the resources. so, there you have it

I'm not sure why my opinion is ruffling feathers right now. I've always said that I would be shocked if Jobe was a Cane.

In the Jobe visits Alabama thread (page 11) I said the same thing back on 4/10/17. Nothing new at all.

Just the mention of Jobe's name puts a lot of Cane fans in the fetal position.

I think we do to an extent but not at the level of other universities. I mean come sit with my buddy who's from Alabama and some of the stories he has are mind voggling
