Supposedly there are going to be changes to our talent acquisition processes. There’s more information in the French/UTSA thread about how we have realized the need for upgrading how we do things. I’m not certain what that all entails, but I’m hopeful that it bring about much needed changes.

My uneducated guess is Drones from Va Tech , Hes Cams 1st cousin and the families are very close. They saw Cam go from a day 3 pick to a top 10 pick and the development . The family loves Mario and Miami . They also saw the media hype machine which surrounds Miami and its a national brand . Wouldn't be surprised if the deal was done awhile ago.

Seriously doubt their families are that close. They said they figured out there were distant cousins when working out together.

Timing would be weird for sure, but given the comment about bowl schedules who else could he realistically be referring to?

I mean that’s about it. But if that’s what the staff is telling him, the staff is just clueless. “Timing of bowls” could be the past games with time still on the clock for the 5 day window.

Today is the last day for games from the 27th and schools to enter their names (paperwork already had to be in). That would be Marcel Reed, Maiava, Behren Morton. Doubt those are happening.

Tomorrow is the last day schools could enter Hoover, Becht, Bailey, and Raiola. Don’t see any of them.

Still time for Robertson and Sellers. Again, don’t see either of those.

They’re idiots if they’re trying to wait out Julian Sayin, CJ Carr, or Ewers. No idea really. They’re even dumber than I thought if they passed Mendoza for Drones. At this point, if it’s Drones, I’ll be happy.

I think it’s more likely to see Beck hit the portal and pull out of the draft. But Georgia needs a QB too so they may want to drag him back after all.

You could definitely win 10 plus games with Mendoza above average QB for sure. I actually think Drones has more upside to develop if the coaching here hits, but lower floor. Tough choice

It's weird, because an alternate argument would be "sure, my December window closed, but now I'll enter early for the spring". The opposing viewpoint would be "why would you change the language if the language effectively means that the portal window never closes" (you could also miss the spring window, but then enter "early" in June).

Maybe Spring is really the "last chance". Strange stuff.

Ward and Drones met when Cam was a Junior in HS. Their Dads talking discovered their wives were from the same area, called them and found out their wives were 2nd cousins. They had moved to different parts of Texas and lost touch. Cam and Kyron got closer through ball. Earlier in the season it was believed Drones would transfer after the season. I don't believe that's the case anymore.

Well if there is one thing I'm confident in it is that the minute a grad transfer is prohibited from entering the portal in these months between winter and spring portal, there will be a lawsuit filled within a week and the judge will side with the player...
