That’s not what he said. He said that he doubts Branch would commit to Miami without us first landing a portal QB. He said nothing about our chances of landing a portal QB.

Regardless of how it works out, its exactly why so many of were against sacrificing high school QB recruiting to focus solely on the portal.

It was never about spending big on a 5*. It was about at least signing someone who had a realistic chance of competing.

Taking only Emory and Judd after Jacurri was always going to lead to this situation.

I'm well aware that Mario wanted Emory to be the second QB in that class. But once it didn't work out that way, there was no justifying taking only Judd the following year.

Don't even try to tell me they didn't want to risk scaring off Nickel by getting a better QB last year. If we signed a QB who was good enough to scare Nickel, then we would have a starting QB right now.
