QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

Imo he’d be a perfect fit for Dawson

Really wish Morris would’ve taken more time. I’m assuming he’s signed at this point.

If we can’t get Robertson roll with Nickel. Don’t give Mendoza 1mm+. Throw money at Concepcion and another outside receiver and just give him the keys.
… still don’t really get what these guys are all signing that stops them from going somewhere else tbh lol

Ewers likely does. Probably more than him.
Would they be interested in Ewers?

If he jumps in, his asking price is going to be astronomical. His family is convinced he's the god king of QBs. They'll have a ton of leverage over any team still in need of a QB at that point too.

Ewwwwers scares me tbh...

I've watched that kid play since his Junior year at Southlake & there's something off about him.

He has one of the most naturally talented arms I've ever seen, but he also has so many moments where he just completely mentally checks out & has a meltdown whenever he's met with adversity.

I've seen too many times where in big moments he just goes in the tank & quits.

I was really high on him coming out of HS, but this season has really soured me on him personally. He lacks some mental toughness that's necessary to be a great QB. He kinda gives me Josh Rosen vibes.

Supremely talented, but not mentally capable of handling the pressure. Suffers from rich kid disease.

The thing about Robertson is he basically saved Aranda's job this year and has some loyalty to him. He sounds pretty locked in with them boys. If he comes, he won't come cheap (nor should he) and he probably won't even entertain anything until after the Bowl Game, which sucks for us bc it isn't til **** near next year :ROFLMAO: !

I would not want Ewers tbh. Think he would be very bad cost to performance as well.

Rather try to still get Morris, or get Robertson or Hoover to enter… and the easy choice is just get Mendoza.

Personally I also am not trippin about Emory and Nickel competing ….***IF*** I knew we got another two top WRs, and a bunch of top portal defensive guys Still. Like it’s risky, but you have a lot of money to spend to surround with talent…

(Also there is still spring portal!)

The 3 best options left IMO:

1. - Throw a big bag at Sawyer Robertson to try to get him to leave Baylor

(If that doesn't work)

2. - Go get Manolo Mendoza

(If he doesn't wanna come to Miami for whatever reason)

3. Start Luke 5-Cent

I will never understand the concern people have with potentially “running off” dudes that we clearly don’t think are good enough to actually play.
Who's 'we'?

They liked Anderson and Williams enough to make them the only QBs in their respective classes.

They liked Williams enough to have him first off the bench last year (basically nobody got off the bench 'cos we were either in a shootout or they were trying to pump Ward's numbers) and asked him to preserve a year of eligibility by Redshirting.

I'm not saying either is THE GUY (I haven't seen enough of either to make that judgement), but I wouldn't just hand the keys to Nickel and run them off. If he comes in as an EE and blows them both away - fine, you make him the starter and deal with the consequences.

Totally agree. Every game he leaves me scratching my head. I just don’t get him. He’ll make a great throw then miss three easy ones. That’s why I say I’d rather have Mendoza. I’ve seen a lot of Ewers being surrounded by great players. Mendoza is the opposite.

Is he transferring out or going pro?

It's a very weak Draft class, he'd probably be wise to go pro if Texas make any noise in the Playoffs.

EXACTLY. Everybody I've talked to about him brings up his family. Rich kid vibes is a perfect description.

@JustAFanHTX what's your opinion of Ewers (and his family)?
