QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

With him reads a lot differently than because of him. He won't kill your team if you're already loaded, but we are not so we need that playmaker.
I think he’s more than a game manager like some are insinuating. The amount of hits and sacks he’s taken there was unbelievable. Just like Cam at Wash St but much worse. Put him in a stable situation I think somebody will get a steal. Indiana would be a great fit.

In a vacuum I’d take him over Emory. But if what D$ and Peter were saying on today’s pod was true, that he’ll be getting $1mm+, that’s a horrible move.
If you pay that man that amount of $ then we have the dumbest staff on the face of the earth and deserve everything they have coming to them.

You butterflies have to start thinking bigger!! Why are we only looking in the portal??! Remember we got Cam from the DRAFT!! Mario might be looking at who already declared for the NFL ! lol

Hearing rumblings about an up and comer named Bom Trady that has a weird desire to upstage Bill Belichick.

Curious to hear folks' opinion on this hypothetical:
  • Mateer doesn't choose Miami
  • Miami has a wink and a nod agreement with Ewers to come here after Texas is done in the playoff
  • Mendoza wants to come to Miami and will commit by the end of next week
Do we say no to Mendoza and take the risk that if Ewers shows out in the playoff that he renegs on us and goes into the draft?
Lose/Lose

I don't have a preference yet. The roster as constructed today needs a superman QB. If we go out and grab personnel to support a game manager than options would expand for me.
This is where I'm at too. If they wanna go game manager then so be it. But they better have a better plan at DB. A game manager isn't going to be able to dig us out of the holes our current DBs would put us in.

Wondering if the coaches are liking what they are hearing from Mateer and that’s why no contact with Mendoza. If not this seems odd unless they are back channeling another big name.

My board has materialized into the below (the gkkd ones havent entered....yet).

1. Mateer
2. Sawyer Robertson
3. Ewers

4. Jackson Arnold
5. Miller Moss
6. Mendoza
Thanks. Mine is similar.

I'd put Mendoza above Moss, who would be off my board. Mateer is clear cut #1. I think we'd get a nice WR portal haul with either Robertson/Arnold/Mendoza. I put Arnold above Mendoza, because I'm a gambling man and the ceiling for next year is higher with him than with Mendoza (Floor higher with Mendoza though). We don't appear to be pursuing Arnold or Mendoza though.

I'm not sure how to rank Ewers. If he's in the portal after Texas' year is finished and we've missed on Mateer and failed to get Robertson (or someone of similar ability) to enter the portal, then IMO we have to take him. However, if he's our guy now because Mateer is a no, and he's told us he'll enter the portal when Texas is done, that's dicey. Big difference between his situation (potentially playing in 4 more games) and Cam's when Coach gambled. I don't think Cam was ever a threat to go to the NFL; it was simply a drawn out negotiation over compensation. Ewers could realistically decide to go to the NFL if he plays well in the playoff, and then we're **** out of luck.

We’re not going after the QB that two bottom barrel big 10 teams and a one year wonder with the softest schedule in the P4 are, which clearly means anyone who thinks Mendoza isn’t the second coming of Christ is a moron.
He was already a P4 starter, was anyone expecting him to drop to G5?

And one of those stole TVD from us ................................
