QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

Comes as no surprise that the same people who wanted Emory are now the ones who want Mendoza. At this point its a fetish.

Just a heads up. When 1 player needs to be on the field with 10 great ones just him playable, he probably isn't as good as you think he is.

Sort of reminds me of a lot of poRsters on here. They need to be surrounded by the rest of us just to make their poRsts serviceable.

Chasing mateer giving all the things working against you or already in play at ou screams vernell brown/ben hanks 2.0. Don’t even worry about that recruitment go get another quality guy

There are other talented QBs who may be waiting until Mateer declares himself to see their stock rise. I'd imagine some have been told their priority in relation to Mateer and are willing to wait things out, like Will Howard and Cam last season.

The only other option is Mateer waiting for a playoff team, but that would put WASU in a pickle if he delays entry and then decides to portal after the QB pool runs dry.

I don't see the same dynamic. Those two were legacies. They were going to UF as long as the NIL was competitive and they knew the program wasn't about to implode on them.

Mateer is from Texas, so he's closer to Oklahoma than Miami. But he did go to Washington. So doesn't look like geography is an issue for him. He wasn't even recruited to WSU by Arbuckle according to 247. His recruiter was Eric Morris, who is now head coach at North Texas after being OC at WSU ... and interestingly previous HC at Incarnate Word.

Just as it was for his friend Cam Ward, the sound business decision for Mateer is Miami. Top OL, potentially top WRs (depending on portal), quality at RB, quality at TE. He's plug and play at Miami. How do Oklahoma's OL and offensive playmakers compare?

You seem to really like fun, exciting, but middling talent and often reckless play given your insistence on someone like Castellanos and Collandrea. They are the type of QBs who could have some fun to watch and exciting games leading a G5 team, but neither belongs anywhere near a serious P4 program looking to contend.
Idk man production is production. Manziel was beating bama. Murray was unbelievable in college.
If TC was 6’4 225 with those stats he’d be getting millions.
I suck at evaluating talent. But those stats on shtty team like BC are way impressive. I hope to eat Crowe like a bunch of other times I have on here.

We beat Jordan Travis and made him crawl like a dog at hard rock. Dude came back and had back to back 10 win seasons.

People look at cfb qb’s like it’s the nfl. You can make the playoffs and win 10 games in cfb but suck in the nfl. Just cause someone’s game and measurable may not be nfl an prototype, it doesn’t mean they can’t win a lot games in college.
Castellanos is a headache for defenses.
But idk if fsu will be able to give him what he needs to win a lot of games.

A lot of assumptions being made that all will be fine if Mendoza saves us a lot of money and we get defensive players in the portal, but that seems like we'd being taking a huge risk that those defensive players will pan out exactly how we hope. Not saying Mendoza can't be our guy, but interesting how quickly some have decided he's the answer.

nervousness, mixed with desperation.

My guess is dominoes are starting to fall.

Still curious if we'll see these guys in the portal:

Leavitt
Ewers
Drones
Salter
Bailey
Salter is already in and they’re not pursuing at least not yet. Bailey announced he’s going back to NC state he got a new deal
