Emory 6'5 220
Mendoza 6'5 225

Mendoza took 41 sacks last year, which is insane (that's #1 in all of CFB).

They seem extremely similar as QBs except you'd be paying much more for Mendoza.

Don't like it.
He's a more experienced (and tbf, more talented) Emory who's been hit in the head a lot more. Too duplicative.

I have been to half the SMU home games over the past couple of years here in Dallas and going to see them at PSU. Stone has a great arm, throws an accurate deep ball, and makes great decisions in Lashlee's fast-paced offense. He was benched more for having no wheels to avoid the rush that SMU's shaky Oline was giving up early on in the season. If you watched the Clemson game, the rush was even getting to Jennings until he got settled. SMU's biggest need this offseason is OL, they will need to hit the portal hard. The benching wasn't really due to Stone being "bad" overall, Jennings just gave them the better chance to win given the makeup of the team.

IMO he would be great in a ball control offense with some big uglies protecting him. He would be a solid B1G QB that has a ground and pound offense where he could thrive on play action deep balls where a defense has to respect the run and not just pinning their ears back and going after him. I see him as a TVD type arm talent with a MUCH better football IQ and decision making.

I think he would do OK in this offense, but it would be more ground and pound type ball because he would not be able to extend the plays like Cam did. I am sure Dawson wants someone closer to Cam and his ability to extend plays that are out there in the portal.
