They will go after branch from usc. Get branch and burden/or Concepcion with him and we do better next year.

But they'll make the playoffs. We opened the door for a 3 loss SEC team to jump us or Clemson win the ACC and SMU is the 2nd ACC team in. We're not making the playoffs. Miami will be tanked 12th at best and will be pushed out by the Big 12 automatic bid.

The perception of the ACC isn't good. Clemson and Miami both losing and a for G5 school is the favorite to win the conference title.

Whoever they are going after I hope they have already made real progress because with this new calendar we need a QB SIGNED the first weekend. Leaving another weekend to get the other prospects to pair along with the known name.

This is the guy to target 100%.

People are letting the Syracuse loss cloud what we have to offer. Cam Ward is a proof of concept for any QB in the country to come to Miami. We've got a solid OL and skill players. Not to mention a good stable of RBs. We've got that pipeline to Wazzu already. We should throw the kitchen sink at this guy.

A QB like him and an improved defense could = a more balanced and better team than this year.

Banking on an improved defense is sketchy imo. HOPEFULLY, it'll be a new system, and a bunch of new starters. I'm not saying that it can't happen cause how much worse can it get?? lol

Hopefully Mario doesn’t do what Mario does and lock in on Mateer when he’s going to Oklahoma. It won’t end up as lucky 2 years in a row.

Offense will take a step back; but defense taking a step up leaves a pretty balanced team. TBD

Should take the same-ish approach as last year when they brought in Will Howard and Cam for a visit. Get 2-3 guys in to visit, sit with Dawson (don't think he's going anywhere yet), and then iron out NIL numbers with who we want.

Get it done quick so we can focus on defense immediately after

Ideally you should want a Qb in place by what, Monday or Tuesday with the new schedule?

Im' not so sure the offense takes a step back with a decent quarterback. Just bc Cam was Superman doesn't mean we can't be explosive without him.

If we get a guy like Mateer for example who is a scrambler, the offense would just have a different look to it. But we'd put up numbers nonetheless.

I think we don't need to see a top 30ish defense in year 1. I think most of us want to see more discipline, better technique, and better adjustments throughout the course of a game.

Which kind of screams Ryan Walters imo

We have a top 5(?) offense in the country. If we have a top 10-20 offense in 2025, its technically a step back.

I agree with you though. The next QB whether it's Mateer or Sawyer Robertson or Hoover or Nuss, they can put up numbers in this offense.

I'd add LB to what we need to have in the building for spring ball. I like Popo and Pruitt. But we need to raise the level of that room. And we need dudes who are looking to prove themselves and can be leaders of the defense. Cause as of right now, we don't have any

Oh if they’re not here in spring go ahead and cancel the season.

We might go into the spring with 3-4 WRs on the roster depending on EEs.

I agree somewhat. I think the passing game will take a step back for sure. Cam was a quick decision maker, would go through progressions and could tell what the defense was doing. Mateer is not close to that as a passer imo. But like you said the offense could still be good with his ability to really hurt people with his legs.
