To me I think the exclusivity of it blinds people. Californians worship it because it’s not available to others. People visiting wait for it and convince themselves it’s better than it is because of the legend. Delusional. Most people have no idea of the national footprint of their restaurant any more than most people live politics everyday. They don’t.

East coast born, Miami grad, west coast for a long time. Wife loves it, I’m meh so I’m not here defending it. Done right you can get a pretty good burger there and the lines actually fly by, place is a machine and they pay people properly.

but the fries are trash. no local what a burgers here, recall liking them but not sticking with me in a legendary way.

want me to get excited? Go full blown junk food and get me a 24 hour White Castle for when I’m lit at 1 am and harold and kumar can pick me up in an Uber And not make me have to wait til I’m broke at the craps table in a quick vegas trip or hitting up medmen (yes they have a White Castle in the parking lot of a dispensary and that’s both cliche and brilliant)

This is exactly what I tell my wife when we go. The only reason you crave it and put it on a pedestal is cuz you can’t drive down the road for it.

As someone that maintains homes on both coasts I'll never understand the obsession with in & out... Granted, I'm not huge on fast food. But to me I see no difference between them and some basic chains burgers & the fries just suck ***. Add on to that the whole waiting in a line that's usually around the corner and it's madness to want that. West coast swears by it though.

I got a free meal certificate for there while walking out of a fair here in Dallas one time. And it was right across the street from my apartment so I went. It sucks.

In-N-Out is for people that just like missionary ***
