QB Decision Update (NEW YEARS DAY ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE LEAGUE)

After UM got Ward on campus, they got hyper-focused on recruiting and nailed a top 3 class.

then he's hyper-focused on this bowl game cause an 8-5, with a bowl win, is a good sign and you can sell that to recruits and portal kids. Also, understands that he needs Jacurri focused cause he's the only QB we have right now for this bowl game, and Ward announcing could be a distraction. Could you imagine if Ward announced and Jacurri hit the portal before the bowl game? lmao. Ward's Dad said a decision was coming around Christmas, not on Christmas. Nor did he say they would announce that decision. For all we know, he's already given Mario the commitment and others are trying to steer his mind to the NFL cause they're idiots.

I'd bet Ward will announce shortly after the bowl game. Whether that's Friday or Saturday.


If Ward goes pro, best of luck to him. I hope Will Howard is still an option cause I'm off KJ Jefferson, who got the arm strength of Viola Davis.

If Ward commits, we put this in the shredder and start telling lies about the 2024 season.

I'd think NFL teams are higher than Bo Nix than Cam Ward and even Nix is a borderline 1st RDer lol Ward really wants to be the 6th QB taken after Caleb, Drake, Daniels, Penix, Nix? That's a Mattress Mack *** gamble lol

At this point it seems like the NFL is more likely then college or he would of committed to us already. He visited two weeks ago and has had plenty of time to think.

its always the same ****....a new variable nobody expected. our coaches always think they have it locked up and feel good about it only for some unexpected thing to happen. they need to stop putting all their eggs in one basket. move on from this guy. get another QB..

This is what I've been worried about for a minute. Seems like somebody is trying to push the NFL hard.

Would be a massive mistake if it's true how much he has been offered for another year of college ball. Not to mention a great year (both for him and the team) could work wonders for improving his draft stock.

He will dictate a lot of his future just by betting on himself one year in college. The risk reward isn’t close.

This is totally accurate and why I can’t wrap my head around this. The facts at play never supported the NFL option being viable.

This is what Mario getting 10 mil a yr for. Let him do his thing. Worst that could happen is another 10 yrs of losses. I’m in too deep to back out either way

I promise all their eggs are not in one basket. Even when the Tvd drama went down there was emergency options. There’s a reason the top of the portal qb board remains intact.

Yes, but if other top tier QB's jump in the portal after bowl games, Ward may lose his leverage on Miami too.
 
Whenever you have any difficult decision in life, even though you can be torn on which direction to take, it seems that subconsciously your heart is leaning one way over the other. In this case, it seems/appears that his heart is in the NFL. If that’s the case, one has to wonder that if he stayed in college, no matter what team he plays for, is he subconsciously going to be playing conservatively with his head not being 100% into it.

Overtly he would know he needs to ball out to get that money, but I think we’ve seen enough players crash and burn when their heart just isn’t into it.

Agree and I still want him to jump on board, but you never know who may enter the portal. With that said, I hope we have him in the fold before the 1st of the year.

Not a fan of this lingering as it affects Portal WRs as well, but I’m not in a position to make millions off this decision either. It’s a game and we can only watch it unfold as fans. *****ing isn’t going to fix anything but I also understand people have a need to do it for some reason

Other than Dillon Gabriel what QB that was available is anyone even losing sleep over that we "missed".

Riley Leonard and Aiden Chiles already had a predetermined destination so much so that Riley Leonard stuck with ND than a chance to go play for OSU and 80% of the board wasnt even interested in Will Rogers... Why is everyone acting like we're missing out on gold by waiting.

Just vibe, we'll be fine either way.

Remember though, these are generally super confident and competitive people. Sure, between them and the people around them I’m confident they’re considering the downside/risks… but ultimately I don’t imagine they’re doubting themselves a whole lot.

And I imagine all this attention and finally being “the guy” is only fueling that energy.
