Pro Canes performing well for St. Louis

FWIW....still no wrap on the tackle

And the first thing he does after the tackle is pound his chest and celebrate himself.
Still a "me" player.
I hope he does well. He's accomplished his goal, which was to get to the league. Good for him.

lol i can tell you have never played football before... This is what players do after a good hit or good play on offense. Duke Johnson pounds his chest after good runs and kick returns is he a Me player too?

That closing speed is pretty crazy for an LB. Chalk up another failure by the Coker/Shannon regime.

Yea all ACC player as a sophomore is a failure... Can't blame them for everything man... When he came back against VT in 2011 he didn't start yet he had like 7 tackles and a fumble recovery... You do realize every player that has come through from 03-11 hasn't sucked?

Actually we have a laundry list of ballers that played for us those years that underachieved in college. Im not saying all of our playets have sucked. Now pertaining to Ray Ray, all his accolades were due to hype and nothing else. BTW he was also projected as a 1st round safety going into his junior year. Not of it was for the way he actually played at Miami. Did we watch the same games? Bottom line is the kid was put into a position to fail by the staff and his success for the rams thus far just cements that notion.

Kiper had him in the 1st round before the 2011 season because he just came off a season were he made 2nd team all acc as a soph.. And was preseason 1st team all acc before the NCAA stuff came out and ruined his jr year (his own fault).

You are right, I haven't played football for decades. I'm 48 years old.
I've played sports my whole life, and I and the vast majority of my team mates have always acted "as if...,"
You may be all pumped up from making a great play, but act as if you've been there before.
Duke may have done it once, but I can't recall seeing it. Usually he just flips the ball to the ref.

As for Ray Ray, the guy went from Kiper's 1st round big board to undrafted for many reasons, one of which was selfishness.
I hope he does well in the league, but his career at Miami will always be about potential and not production.

Are you serious? Watch the game today and say "I'm an idiot" every time a player pounds their chest. Kiper had him in the first round, but all Cane fans who watch the games knew he wasn't a first round talent (at least at safety). If ray ray would have never got caught up doing dumb stuff he would of been a mid round pick.

Dude, pounding your chest and celebrating with team mates is great. Doing it only to draw attention to yourself is simply selfish.
You should look at yourself to measure idiocy if you think any different.

That's the difference with this current team. I haven't heard one guy talk about personal goals, even though the press has been overtly intrusive. With this team it's all about the team goals. Duke said he'd play fullback if they asked him too.
The Ray Ray's are gone, and from an overall team standpoint we are the better for it.
Will we see celebration all season?
I certainly hope so.
Pound your chest all you want and celebrate with your team.
That's what camaraderie is all about.

Good grief...

He made a good play, he can celebrate a little.

Of course he can, and he should, but how about celebrating with a team mate and not just be *********ory.
Maybe I read into it too much, but this whole chest pounding, "look how great I am", its all about me attitude, is the reason Ray Ray pretty much flamed out at Miami.

You're reading just a little too much into it.

And by a little, I mean a heaping **** ton.

You are right.
Armstrong was all about the team at Miami and never put his personal well being above team goals.
Whatever.

Nobody is saying that Armstrong was not at least a little selfish with the decisions he made. To me, it was more about not being mature than being selfish, but the idea that pounding your chest is selfish is ridiculous. Why are you bitter towards the kid?
