Not too interested personally in comparing our talent to other teams at the moment

Losing our Top SIX receiving yards leaders, the best RB we’ve had in years, and the best QB I’ve seen here in my lifetime has me a little hesitant to make predictions

Also I realize this won’t be popular but Elijah Lofton a guy that doesn’t have a specific position being our “best player” isn’t exactly what I hoped to hear

(This is just as of right now of course I’m optimistic)

…and there are posters who don’t think we need more weapons on offense. We lose a ton and by a “ton” I mean a 💩 load and by a “💩 load” I mean 99% of our offensive production.

But…nah…we good…we gonna ride with guys who haven’t done a **** thing when the band is playing because early reports from Greentree indicate they look good in shells or because we have a “jack of all trades” TE that is going to light the world on fire.

In terms of body type, yes, I say we've come a long way.
In terms of performance, maybe we've progressed a little less. But if Brad Jennings were on this team, with all due respect, he'd be maybe running down kickoffs.
Yes, in terms of body type and recruitment rankings at that position, we have certainly done better. I was really high on the ‘23 class. Bryant is now an edge, Pulliam transferred, Washington might not ever see the field sans special teams. Popo is the only one that might contribute for us at that position. Jury is still out on him, but he’s looked good at times. I’m ecstatic about Wiley and his future, but if he’s taking a ton of snaps from upperclassman, that means we have some issues at LB.

I think most of our fans can be optimistic and see a lot of potential in our young guys, be thrilled with our winter portal, and still recognize we gotta do more

Also I don’t think that’s necessarily a criticism of our program. The 2023 class is definitely disappointing but the way college football is going these days seems like teams will constantly have a ton of work to do every offseason

I agree with the people that expect a more balanced team but then again it would be impossible not to be

I don’t expect the roller coaster shootouts and explosive plays on both sides of the ball but we can’t get into that grind mode one score games every week either

Still a long ways to go but so far I’m optimistic just too many questions

252, we've been counting on youth for 23 years. And even if they are All Conference, I want another proven guy at each spot. What happens if they get injured? Champions have depth of talent.
moten and develop Horton. Can’t keep depending on the portal. Develop these guys on the roster

We had the #1 offense last year cant really expect to replicate that type of production with Beck leading us, Ward was a diff level of QB. We're just young at the Skill positions on offense but those guys are oozing w potential, if we add a proven difference maker at WR we'll be good this year IF the defense improves like I expect it will. We dont really need to be as explosive as last year just more balanced.

Feels like if we had this defense last year we are winning a couple games in the playoffs

The drop off will be big on offense but hopefully the improvements on defense balance it out with still enough production on offense to blow teams out that we should

Horton is my breakout player pick for this year…

He’s been injured and I think lot of folks sleeping on him.

Not sleeping on him at all. I just don't think you can count on Josh Horton and Chase Smith as playoff caliber starters or even rotational pieces given their injury history. Look how F'd we were when Brown and Bain went down in game 1 vs UF. And they didn't have a history of injury. These guys need to be +1s, not core to your personnel plans.

Yeah we're national champion contenders last year if the defense was even average smh..The talent brought in the secondary alone is impressive and if one of the 5star DL takes a step Id expect us to have one of the better defenses in the ACC.. Linebacker is the only glaring hole I see, we'll likely have to address that in the portal.

Yeah really curious given Heathermans LB background to see what kind of LB he targets for his defense and who he has faith in on the current roster

He flashed? I mean, I guess it was his best game of the season. He made a few good tackles. He also got demolished two plays in a row when GT was in the red zone before they scored their 4th TD. They went right at him. I don’t think he played good at all. Maybe he looked better than the rest of our linebackers because they were all god awful that game.
Yeah, you said his best game was against Central Connecticut in his freshman year, so I was responding his best game was against Georgia Tech last year where he flashed on a few plays and was impactful on those plays, had a career high in tackles as well

And I’m in no way saying he’s starter level or has he shown he’s consistent enough either to be a starter to this point

Chase Smith is also a legacy, so I’m rooting for him in his final year

These days guys like Chase are great to have on the team even if they aren’t big contributors

As much as we had fun at McCormicks expense last year he still had the opening TD against UiF

I hear ya but we’ll definitely see soon enough…

I for one am looking forward to his season

Bruh would find a way to compare our DL to the 2024 Eagles DL if the topic came up.
And yet you're here comparing Clemson's DLine to what? All cause they have two very good players, and acting like we don't? Acting like you aren't accounting for their guys to show further development as well?

That's my point on all y'all acting like our DLine isn't on the level as all these other programs. It has nothing to do with talent or whether they are proven or not. It all has to do with y'all just not trusting our coaches to develop them and get them to perform this year. That's literally ALL it is. Which hey you can have that opinion but just say that. No need to act like we have no talent lol.

Cause all these teams y'all wanna act like far outclas us on the DLine simply don't when you hold them to the same standard you hold our DLine to. Hey y'all want to hold our DLine to some extremely high standard that's great. But don't also act like there are more than 1-2 DLines in the entire country that actually do meet your standard.

Also it **** well ain't certain Clemson has a better DLine than us lol
