Spring PractiSe 6: Saturday, March 22nd

180 is going to get you dragged by a pinky finger bruh. Pause
How much did Devonta Smith weigh in college?

Zay Flowers went in round one a couple years back and he played the majority of his career at a cheeseburger above 170lbs. Jordan Addison went one pick later at 23 overall and played at a similar size.

Xavier Worthy is another guy who needs cheeseburgers to stay above 170lbs and I can go on and on...

Being a successful WR has a lot to do with agility, technique, footwork and route-running; it's easier to disprove your assertion than support it.

Donno said they’ll be scrimmaging. Not sure how you do that on the first full day of pads. But looking forward to hearing about some battles. He also said no media fully closed practice though. So maybe we won’t hear anything except guys were flying around.
- Flying around
- Reshaped bodies
- Not starting over, starting from a higher level of excellence
- Never satisfied with yesterday, always looking to finish tomorrow
- Learning what it means to wear that U on the side of the helmet
- Elite hooomans and aliens out there

I understand he can be successful but Smith had blazing speed Jojo does not have that imo. And Smith although great you do not want him as the number 1 and he has to be paired with other savages as well. Can a light weight be your number 1 in college? Yes but he better be surrounded by goons every where else. Always want the bigger types period end of story......if you had a Lebron James clone that was 63 215 and Lebron James 68 260 both 20 years old same position, who would you take? You taking the bigger Bron its just facts man, I understand people get upset or mad about it but if a bigger guy can do what the little guy can do you take the bigger guy.

Not saying Jojo is trash I am saying when you go up against the elite you need all those techniques and athleticism while being bigger or the same size as the opponent, if not you will get walked off the field like we did to Nebraska and what UGA did to TCU etc.

I am just disappointed that we are still not up to Miami standard in talent vs what I see high end football schools doing when they are recruiting. I am pleased in the direction and I know it is taking awhile but I am getting impatient.....especially when I see what we lose playing on Saturdays.

Out of all the Canes podcasts, 247 is the only one that sort of "keeps it real", especially David Lake. The downside to the show is that Gaby rambles and can't make a clear point.

The rest of the Canes shows are so full of homerism that it's nearly impossible to listen to them.
Yea man David lake is a straight shooter he calls out the players that are terrible, and say if a player is Miami caliber or not. Meanwhile Gaby believes his name is Gaby but he's not 100% sure yet

Bro that comparison... come on now, that's a reach and you know it.

Jojo strengths tho they made him a five star is his elite ball skills & body control. That makes him catch anything his way and his route running skills is dam good. People that watch him says he's gotten much stronger and runs in 4.4 range

Lake can be a little too far on the negative side sometimes IMO. In all honesty a pod with he and D would do numbers.

Both very good, but 2 different ways of approach.

Bring Pete and Gaby in for football and basketball recruiting 😁

Isn't that the miami way? All I ever read on swampass is that Miami is all front runners, wanna be badasses. Blame the coffee ☕.

But it is true if you (for the position you play) are big and have that athletic ability power and speed for that position its a difference. Its an exaggerated comparison so I can make my point easily to understand what I mean. Jeremiah benefits from being the size he is and moving like a little guy, same like Saquon dude running a 4.3 at 230 with that explosiveness. You had people saying Walton was better before the draft and that was drugs they were on, he's 230 bruh you cant bring that down easily with that explosiveness and speed you just cant. Walton was like 200 that's a huge difference, in every sport that makes a big difference when athletic ability are leveled between players.

Ofc I wanted Jojo he was a must get in that class imo, I like Jojo. I just wish he was paired with other elite wrs, I think we can do much better on the trail......thats just how I see it. I feel like if Al Golden or Randy Shannon were our wr coach he would be getting destroyed on here.....we would be calling for that staff replacement a good while ago.

One thing I’ve changed my mind on with WR recruits is finding legit heights and weights

This has nothing to do with JoJo he was a top talent you take no matter what

But man for years now the receivers show up here and too often they’re so far off physically it’s almost laughable

Shoulders that are as wide as their ears and we wonder why they can’t make a dent
