In other news, Tarik Black has visited Oregon, and G-Town, and will visit Duke and Kansas next week, but it looks like either Duke or Oregon. Please go to Oregon...Do not need him at Duke.

I wonder if the fact that he is transferring again means he's serious about basketball, or even less serious. Anyway, last year he averaged 6.2 points, 4 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots per game. He started 30 of their 31 games, and shot 49% from the field, 71% from the FT line and was 12-31 (39%) from 3. I'd take that over Swoope.

I mean, you're right, in that he's better than what we have and we're desperate for size (unless there are other things cooking that I'm not privy to). I just know that the reason he didn't work out the first time was not because he didn't have the talent.

Kirk has talked to Coach L and said he wants him. It's between Miami and an unnamed school. He'll decide in June per ITU.

I realize its college sports and the only goal is to win, but to take back a kid that didnt give a **** about basketball when he was here and bench guys who have been busting their *** is a real tough sell to me

I'd pass on Kirk

I think we greatly need someone at PF, I would take Kirk if he can play next year. Who is left on the table?

Maybe he can replace Gamble's production

"Played in 31 games with 30 starts... averaged 25.5 minutes per game... led team with 50 blocked shots... the 50 rejections are 10th on the DePaul season chart... only 10 players in program history have blocked at least 50 shots in a season... 13 games of two or more rejections... ranked No. 102 in NCAA statistical rankings with 1.61 blocks per game... ranked among BIG EAST leaders in blocked shots for all games (6th - 1.61 bpg) and conference games only (10th - 1.35 bpg)... made a dozen three-pointers after totaling just three over first 40 games of career... nine boards against Louisville... eight points, eight boards at Georgetown... 11 points and seven rebounds against Rutgers... 16 points at Notre Dame with four rebounds... 16 points, four boards, three blocked shots at Marquette... 11 points against Notre Dame with seven rebounds, two blocks... six points, six rebounds, five blocks at St. John's... eight points and six rebounds at Providence... blocked four shots in back-to-back games against Arizona State and Northern Illinois... 14 points against Milwaukee... seven points, three boards at Auburn... 10 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots against Fairfield... nine points against Western Kentucky with five rebounds and five blocked shots... five points and four boards against Wichita State... scored eight points against Gardner-Webb and UC Riverside."

@JonRothstein: Texas transfer Sheldon McClellan will visit Miami next Thursday (5/30), per a source. Marquette + Oregon also in the mix.

From the Herald:

### Power forward Donnavan Kirk, who transferred from UM to DePaul after the 2010-11 season, told us he likely will enroll at either UM or Colorado State for graduate school and will be eligible to play this coming season.

Kirk, 6-9, averaged 6.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks for DePaul last season and would bolster a UM frontline badly in need of another big man. He said the two schools are “even” and he will make a decision soon after visiting Colorado State this week. He doesn’t need to visit UM because he already has been enrolled here.

"I like Coach [Jim] Larranaga's honesty and his way of doing things, and they need a four-man," he said. But he also likes Colorado State coach Larry Eustachy.

UM has three scholarships left and has been eyeing several transfer and junior college players.

Eustachy is a solid coach, but also has skeletons in his closet from his days and nights at Iowa State. So return home and finish where you started, Kirk.

This sounds good...

### UM also is pursuing basketball transfers, and Sheldon McClellan, who is leaving the University of Texas, is visiting UM Thursday. UM is cautiously optimistic; Miami is his only scheduled visit for now, though Oregon and Marquette are in the mix. McClellan, ranked the No. 15 shooting guard by rivals.com in the 2011 class, averaged 13.5 points but shot just 38.2 percent. He also would be required to sit out next season.
