Does picking up McClellan rule us out for getting Lacey as well? I can't see us taking 2 transfer SG/Combo guards.

We lose Brown (whether you call him a SG/SF) and all we currently have is Burnett. I think taking both, especially with the open ships, makes sense. You can always run a third guard, but in the end I don't think we get both.

Lacey is a better player, and given the schools Lacey is visiting compared to McClellan, we always had a better shot at landing McClellan than Lacey.

I don't think that is true or definitive.

Usually at better schools (basketball program wise) there is better talent, so it is harder to earn more time because the competition is better. I

We have Burnett, Rodriguez, Reed, LeCompe all at the 1 thru 3 positions. With a commitment from Henriquez already at the 2 guard spot for the 2014 class. Adding both Lacey and McClellan would cause a logjam at the position. On the other hand we went with a 3 guard lineup for most of the time last year so having guys like Henriquez and Reed playing the role of McKinney-Jones could work with whatever combination at the 1 and 2.

I think it is okay to have 5-6 total guards, depending on the lineup (i.e. even if not a 3-guard):

We would have the following (2014-2015 Season)

Shooting Guards
McClellan (Rd-Jr)
Trevor Lacey (Rd-Jr)
Burnett (So) ***Please note he is also a PG***
Henriquez (Fr)

PG:
Rodriguez (Jr)
LeCompe (So)
Elder (COUNTS AS FOOTBALL I BELIEVE)

Reed is a SF and Henriquez is 6'6, he might be able to play some SF too.

So essentially you have 6 scholarship guards and I think it is pretty spread out at SG. In the end I think this doesn't matter because we're not going to get both McClellan and Lacey.

Let's not forget that Mr. Europe may need 2 years to get ready to this style of play, so we may need Burnett backing up the PG and playing the SG.

So 6 scholarships at 2 positions IMO would be okay.

I hope you're right. Ryan Harrow would be a good cautionary tale to support your argument. However, I still tend to think that a guy who has an offer from UNC is going to be tough for us to get. I hope I am wrong.

There is no right, just nothing definitive.

Look at Jack McClinton, he is probably our best player (in college) since _____________ and where was he Sienna? These transfers are weird. TMJ came from another inferior school with not that much popularity.

There is no guarantee is all I am saying.

any body have any links to basketball coaches/recruiters?...wanna give them a transfer name that might be worth a look.

who is the guy, i can message the coaches

We need the entire board to approve
Just PM me, no need to make this public

Strauzer and Pete, any updates on Lacey?

Last I've heard we would take McClellan over Lacey and as Pete said Sheldon has us on top currently whereas I don't think we are for Lacey.
