Portal next week - Good news

Check the facts on the portal transfers. We took 15 last cycle. Only 4-5 performed at or above expectations. The previous 2 years were even worse.

Go to YouTube and search for CanesSport's transfer evaluations. Gsry abd Matt did an excellent job breaking down the transfers from the previous years during Fall camp 2024..
I don’t need to check ****

I watch football and teams outside of the Canes

You should try it

You're funny. Most of our transfers make as many mistakes as inexperienced and have less ceilings.

It's laughable how people try to defend the play of our transfers.

Every cycle its the sunshine pumping of the transfer portal. I said to go watch Gary and Matt, so you can get a reality check.

LOL I think of young Kobe every time I watch Raiola trying to mimick every Mahomes mannerism.. Hopefully he finds himself like Kobe eventually did.

He has all the talent, while being a better athlete and player at a similar stage.

Yet, people cap like he's Stanley the poser and don't even know his game.

That's the only way.

I will say, on offense, he seems to have found a happy medium with Dawson. In year 2 Dawson seemed to have complete control but I also think Mario had input where he's valuable and Dawson seemed OK with that. Hope he comes back and gets a QB he likes.

It's a **** shame we only had Cam for 1 year because in the universe where Cam comes back I think it provides the momentum to get over the hump. I think that's why so many fans feel so disappointed. I don't think it's the 10-2 season, it's the idea that we likely have to start all over. If we had Cam for another year we'd be talking about refinement and fans are excited.

Cam is talented and could have taken us there, but there are other QBs who can do that if we are well coached and play complementary football. Cam was gonna leave us one day--no matter what, and the program will absolutely continue to climb without him.

The fan base should look forward with the opportunity for 11 wins, a deeper and more talented team with 19 EE going into the Spring, and a very attractive program for years to come.

Maybe even former head coaches

Belicheck?

Pray I Hope GIF

D$ has said the defense needs a head coach type for the defense. Somebody that’ll have control and respect over that room. I believe that’s what we’ll end up with somewhere on staff. The little noise that I’ve heard leads me to think he’s looking for a high level p4 type’s. Maybe even former head coaches. Hopefully he gets somebody like that to bite. I will say to his credit he normally fixes his mistakes pretty quickly even though he seems to be fixing a lot every offseason lol. Regardless the room should look dramatically different.

Jeoff Collins probably available now.

Transfers are fine IF you shop it the right way. Go for all QUALITY and there’s a bit of out there IF you are doing your homework and you are willing to spend.

Transfers don’t work when you bring in transfers to fill a back up role, or if the person is a lottery ticket only (think Harrell or Baron) who you hope can “put it all together” - its like shopping the clearance rack.

More quality and less lottery tickets. If they aren’t an EASY upgrade, use the funds elsewhere. Also, did I mention being proactive??

If its a position where you rotate bodies frequently taking a transfer or two for quality, experienced depth can make sense. If it's for just a true backup role with little playing time I agree with you

Also no taking the lazy way of portaling by taking guys you’ve coached at lower levels unless they going to make a significant positive impact.

@Cribby Mario should go NFL like Michigan and I hate to say, ND (**** I hate this school) did.

Totally agree. Enough effing around on defense. Get a top guy and pay him whatever he needs to turn this defense into a monster. The schedule is tough next year but with a strong portal haul on defense and a monster DC hire, we should be in good shape.

I wonder if Jason Candle is available? Might as well try and get him on the other side of the ball.
