I am firmly in the camp that the coaches play who they feel gives them the best chance to win. Their paychecks and therefore their lives depend on it.
That being said, how awful and/or clueless do Pope, Hightower, and Wiggins need to be to be beaten out by a 5'10 kid who has been a WR for 45 minutes? That's pretty alarming if the coaches think Tate as the Z receiver gives us a better chance to win than those 3 kids.
For me it’s even beyond that position. What about playing rousseau(by far our most impactful guy in the front 7 vs uf) or hill less than 15 snaps? Maybe the rotation was just short at most positions because they went with who they knew would know their system in and out and I’m hoping that’s the case. They had mentioned prior to the game that the starters at receiver would play most of the snaps that game and yeah tate played more than pope or Hightower but he knew the plays in and out due to him being a qb. I’m fine with him playing, just get the rotation fixed and get the whole position group going. That should be a focus in the coming weeks and hopefully it expands a bit. It's not just about experience. Habits matter. Notice that Tate didn't take any snaps away from Harley. There is a reason for that.

Looks like our staff is putting an absolute premium on practice habits and knowing exactly what to do on the field. That’s what I’m getting from Tate’s quick rise up the depth chart. Maybe they don’t trust the other guys to not bust assignments.
Other than Thomas nobody in the wr room has a gripe about ****. In the words of the great philosopher William Taggert “ Do something”.
Pope and Wiggins especially.

What has Hightower done to not warrant play time
Playing Patchan and Garvin over Hill and Rousseau in the UF game seemed like a strategic decision, and frankly, a smart one at that given how UF's offense works. If we see Hill and Rousseau getting very little playing time throughout the season, then maybe there's a valid issue there, but at this point I don't see one.For me it’s even beyond that position. Well Pope has admitted he couldn't learn the playbook last year, and all of us know that Richt's playbook was stolen directly from Madden 98 so that should tell you all you need to know. Wiggins had stone hands last year and was dropping passes left and right throughout the quick videos that were posted on twitter during camp. Then Hightower did pretty much nothing after the LSU game last year, although I heard he played through a pretty bad injury.
I like all those guys a ton, but we have to realize that Tate is a legitimate athlete who clearly has a better grasp of the offense. That said, I'd love to see the WRs develop and catch on in the next few games
This super complex extremely difficult offense that literally only 3 players have the "intelligence" to understand produced an astounding 214yds in the air...
Don't play any of the WR's, keep'em on the bench & don't act shocked when they hit the portal & kill our depth.
Every other major winning program found a way to get their TF WR's on the field & get them integrated in the offense & played, but we somehow can't even get a group of 2nd year players on the field while simultaneously NOT BEING ABLE TO THE THROW THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD LOL.
Hey the coaches know better than I do so if they don't think they need to play those guys then by all means don't, but if our passing offense remains amongst the worst in college football & we continue to lose games it'll speaks volumes about their lack of ability to develop.
I have no problem with them playing any player they feel gives us the best chance to win, but here's the caveat... YOU HAVE TO WIN.
The offense has cost us multiple games over these last 3 years simply because they were incapable of doing the most basic fundamental sh*t, even garbage P5 teams can figure out a way to pass for 250-260yds a game, in today's era of college football you can literally manufacture yards off scheme & pace alone, but yet we can't do elementary level sh*t to move the ball down the field. We're the only **** team in D1 ball that has an offense chock full of 4-star players that still can't throw the ball lol.
It's real simple, if your offense is struggling you exhaust every option possible until you find what works, doing the same thing over & over again while expecting a different result is insanity.
****, fellas. All this after only 1 game and because Tate saw like 10 reps or so at WR? So if we had the same offensive output but Pope, Hightower, Wiggins etc got those few reps instead of Tate would you guys be happier then?
Y’all are gonna break your legs jumping off the Enos bandwagon. I’m gonna give him and the O a little more time.

We’re one game in.
Personally, I think there’s no telling what our go-to WR rotation will be until after 4 games or so.
I believe the coaches are figuring it out themselves. For the first couple of games, it’s obviously going to be more heavily influenced by practice/scrimmage performances.
As games progress, I would think that there will be additional evaluations and tinkering until they settle more or less on 4-5 guys that get the most snaps.
They’re still figuring all this stuff out. If Pope or Wiggins doesn’t take a step I could see Payton taking their lunch money.
Wiggins is the head scratcher , dude is a great athlete , that stays open. But his hands are god awful. Pope has trouble with the mental side of the game and it’s holding him back. He’s thinking rather than just playing.
I'm not hitting the panic button, I'm simply tired of hearing excuses while not producing results. We’re one game in.

They may be figuring it out as they go, but losing games in the process expedites the problem.
We lost multiple games last year because we had a pure sh*t offense & we lost to UF because we had a pure sh*t offense... They need to fix the offense, however they do it is up to them, but they need to fix it, it's really that simple.
