Players vs Coaching

Everyone says Guidry can’t run his scheme. Well then adapt or recruit better.
Agreed. Shula could win running the ball and he could win throwing the ball. You tailor your scheme to what your players can do. If it's not good enough then recruit better but putting guys in positions they can't manage is bad and I'm seeing it with Guidry.

That's message board talk. Dudes at home think it's easy to just "adjust". I mean, if it's so easy to "adjust", why is there one undefeated team in the entire FBS?
He knew he didn’t have enough db’s to run a 3-3-5 going into the season.

our DBs
do you guys think they are just that bad or simply extremely poorly coached and used in suboptimal ways
under Golden we used to claim that our D line was trash
then the same D line make a complete 180 in just 1 year under Manny's scheme and Kul's coaching
can we expect that type of change with simply changing the coaches
or are they simply jags
this secondary makes me with we had Gurvan Hall and R Knowles back there
Both ca be true....how these kids are coached up meaning technique is horrible, but they're also dumb football players.

Jaden Harris is that bad, yes. I rarely just completely **** on kids, but he's an FCS level player, MAYBE somewhere in the MAC, at best. He is not a Power league player at all. He does nothing well, literally. He's often out of position, he has poor eyes, he's not ready at the snap, he can't cover, he can't tackle, he's not fast and he's not big. Other than that, he's awesome.
when he was saying in the summer he was happy even being a water boy
i knew we were in trouble
hes in way over his head
he should be special teams at most

but the same D line we thought was limited looked all world under a new scheme and position coach
so im just hoping that simple coaching changes can salvage what we have
different positions, different tasks, different demands

Go to the football thread on the WEZ if you want to see screenshots of our D that will make you want to vomit

I don't see how people are asking this question about talent vs. coaching when you consider the OJ issue alone - much less all of the other atrocities

And we may have have ruined our freshman corner leaving him out there to get torched repeatedly and at will.

I had to tap out when it went from ****ies and football to people posting torturing animals and dead baby gifs

I’m not about that life
Yeah I hear you. I stay in the football thread and that’s it.

Also FWIW that poster is dead now

They don't understand leverage and route concepts. Most of the time depending on down and distance it's only so many routes that can be ran. Also depending on the defensive call for the front 7, you should be able to jump alot of these routes. Sometimes if you just take chances you get lucky especially against a QB like McCord who just throws to a predetermined area, which exactly how Pitt got so many picks off of him!!
