Do a simple comparison on Google maps from 33458 to Miami International Airport. 1 hr 43 minutes by car, 4 hours by transit.
Yea... That ain't gonna happen... People and Patience aren't a thing anymore... lol.... I know for a fact I'm not sitting on public transit with a crowded room for 4 hours... Seriously though it won't happen...

Leave at 7:30 am for a noon game and get back home around 8:00 pm. Better have an early breakfast, lunch at the stadium and have Uber Eats on the way for when you get home.

My friend, this is delusional. People in South Florida aren’t taking no Brightline or Metrorail to a game. You’re kidding yourself if you think this would happen.
Exactly.... leave the metrorail to the kids if they care to come .
No S Fl fan family is coming on some freaking train carrying all the meats...
How the **** do you tailgate coming on the metrorail. Will have fire up the bbq and burn down the train.

You must be 5 years old if you believe any serious % of 60,000 fans would be using Metrorail. Maybe a few fans that live near a Metrorail station. Parking limitations = a HUGE problem. The OB was situated in a residential neighborhood and people could park in residential driveways (no blockie etc). Right now the only viable location IS Hard Rock. UM is apparently going to evaluate the Mas Brothers proposed soccer stadium at Melreese. Only way THAT works is WITH PARKING for stadium capacity and the capacity needs to be 60,000 or don't bother. Not with the investment UM is putting on staff, facilities, and building a competitive program.

UM is better off buying HR than building some tin can stadium near campus... that would be cheaper and quicker, with 1/10th zoning and property hassles.
Obviously, the politicians wouldn't be able make $$$ of that solution....

The posters bringing up Brightline and metro rail obviously don't go to the games.

Makes it better in my eyes.
I don't know, man. They have eliminated most of the cherished tailgating space and I believe we'll see a lot of complaints about that in a few months. Tennis, Dolphins facility, racetrack, gondola rides. The place has turned into kind of a zoo.

I can see that. I’m a east orange lot person. So far no complaints but I believe they screwed over blue lots ? Last year ?

How many failed attempts at a Grand Prix have there been in South Florida? I know of a few in the mid 80's in Palm Beach that ended up moving to the fairgrounds and disappeared. This one has a 10 year contract, so we'll see how it goes.

F1 is huge now tho. always been internationally but the Netflix show has really increased the popularity of it. also, the fact that a lot of great drivers and their families are coming bc its miami (same as the Vegas one next year or so) increases the draw. the Austin F1 race didn't do so well early on but picked up better once the show came out.

So we play where they host Formula 1, the super bowl , college football championship, El Classico , miami open ..

And I’m supposed to be in my feelings? I’m happy to share a venue with other peak sporting events

the more money those events bring the more money ross can put back into the stadium to increase its draw. the city wont give him money for improvements so we better hope all these events draw well.

Maybe, but history isn't on its side. There used to be an 1/8th mile track around Tamiami, it's closed. There was a short track way back at the South Florida Fairgrounds, it closed in the 70's. Palm Beach International Raceway (Moroso) is slated to become an Amazon distribution center and there's some serious objection not only by the residents that will have to deal with the trucks, but Pitbull is the most vocal advocate for keeping the track.

Other than Nascar moving to Homestead, racing doesn't really appeal down here. Which is actually kind of interesting that Homestead didn't get the Grand Prix race.

The F1 track is for this race only .... it is being removed after the race. Europeans come for the race and pay a fortune.
