When was Bobby Petrino last an effective coach? I feel like he’s been out of it for a while now

I was listening to a radio show the other day and they were talking about this hire.

Apparently Missouri State hadn't made the FCS playoffs the last 30 years before he got there and he took them to the playoffs each of the last two years. I think he can still coach. He was just banished to the shadowrealm where nobody knew what he was doing.
