Pete: Hearing anything on Billy Gibson

If Ivings is correct, then I'm happy that UM made a pimp move on this bytch and his dad. Fck all these local scumbags. Commit for real, or we'll find someone better who will commit.

This bytch will get to ******* Eugene and be like "oh ****, what the fvck did I do?". That place is a desolate wasteland. A dump. The locker room is nice, but unless you intend to spend 4 years staring at cranks in the locker room (hmmm...maybe it's not such a dumb move), then you fcked up, Holmes.

This dumb shythead will transfer in 1 year.
Preach!

Gibson played himself. Glad Rick pimp slapped him.

The culture down here is ridiculous and laughable. Kid is committed for an entire year had zero offers solid offers besides us and decided to **** around with Oregon weeks before signing day.

This season proves that winning doesn't cure all. Once again it's a double edged sword- offer a kid early and they play you. Offer a kid late and we.didnt show enough love.

I said it before. The recruiting blue print needs to change. Family like the Gibsons are pathetic. Have some respect for the home team that's been on you since day 1. Zero respect from the locals and it all starts with these scumbag parents always looking for the better deal.

Add south ridge to the list of schools that we will have a hard time recruiting in the future. This hurts our chances with Pope

Not going to lie i REALLY liked Gibson. Thought he was a stud SS. But if he was setting us up for the okie-doke and was going to leave us hanging and the staff found out about his shenanigans then F it..let him go and be done. He wasn't irreplaceable.

Hopefully this won't affect Mark Pope next year, we gotta keep a good relationship with the ridge.

we can't let that kid get away, straight beast.

You guys need to stop with this bytch *** stuff about next year at Southridge or next year at STA or next year at _______.

Gibson is the one who decided to play footsies with Oregon as a long-time UM commit. We told him we needed a commitment or that we had to find someone to take his place so we didn't wind up holding the bag in February. Gibson chose to keep sucking that Oregon dyck. So we had to move on. This is on Gibson. And Harley's facquitry is on Harley.

Said that winning **** is all bs

Oregon's ***

Kid knows he wouldn't get burn at UM or took Nike money. Either way with Carter and Smith we are ok. That's 9 safeties on the roster.

Ford is way better than Gibson

How is Pitt getting a better safety then us anyway? **** is crazy

'Cos he's from Pittsburgh? Some recruits are loyal.

Yeah, that has me shaking my head. A guy from Pitt, committed to Pitt, going to choose Miami at the last minute...

We couldn't convince Henry Miller, a Florida kid, to de-commit from Pitt in 2016, so I'm a little hesitant to think we can get a guy from that area to de-commit this late. Would be an incredible flip though.

Miami's class needs studs to finish it. Billy Gibson is a decent enough player, but you could replace him with any number of DBs across the street from Miami, nevermind the state.

Where r they? Where is this safety?

He's the composite 122nd player in the state. 65th rated safety in the nation. 9th Rated safety in the state. You've got plenty of P5 prospects in that range at his position. He is a good player, but he isn't replaceable. State of Florida, South Florida in particular will produce many defensive backs every years that are *** and lower. Lets not act like Billy Gibson - a good player, don't get me wrong - is the only one, is what I am saying.

Agree, I have my doubts. Although, Miller's brother goes to Pitt also....so not totally crazy we couldn't flip him.

Randy Russell is better and faster. He's just a year later.

Russell is a sprinter on the track team and his 200m time is approaching the national high school elite standard.

Yeah, he's the crown jewel of Pitt's class...Won't be easy, see what happens though.

I didn't really like Gibson, but I was fine with him because the staff liked him. Just like I don't particularly like Derrick Smith. That guy seems like Mark Barron, where he's definitely going to end up as a LB at some point in his career.
I do like Amari Carter though. But I think we still don't have the type of safety that we need. We don't need a Jamal Carter replacement, we need a Rayshawn Jenkins replacement imo.

Shawn Davis would have been great. But to me it looks like Brian Edwards is going to be the top guy now. We've already been recruiting him hard to play CB and S.

As for Pete, he definitely took an L on this one. Mainly because at the beginning of this thread he reported that the coach said he was coming here, and made it sound like there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Now this sounds like a situation where the coach was completely surprised, and we basically dropped the kid. This was a real Nick Saban move imo. Telling a kid to stop playing the recruiting game or you're dropped. When you tell a kid that and they don't stop you only got one option.
At least this means the staff isn't BSing around, especially for kids that aren't superstars. If this is Jeudy you put up with it, because hes elite. But you don't do that for one of our lowest ranked commits.

Between Finley, Carter, and whooever we will likely land in his place, I'm not worried about this loss. But yeah if we get Paris Ford, this is 100% an upgrade. Completely doubt we get him, but it definitely would be an upgrade.

I have a feeling our judgments of this staffs recruiting could drastically change come NSD. As our class currently sits I think we can all admit its not where we'd like it to be. But we are in on some real good recruits, and if we land a couple of them it changes our entire outlook on this class.
