Golden is doing what he has to do. He can be having Freshmen questioning his rules. Any other coach not named Coker would have done the same thing here. JJ didnt put up with that, Butch didnt, Shannon didnt, and Golden sure as **** isnt going to. Kid is a FRESHMAN, Golden needs to lay down the law because its his authority as HC that is on the line if he doesnt show that there are consequences.

On the Rashawn Scott thing, sounds like Golden did the right thing, and honestly, Scott will be LUCKY to be back on this team. Butch Davis booted Adrian Wilson, one of our starting DTs on a thin DL back in 99 for doing the same thing.

I mean Im actually surprised to hear people here questioning Golden for cracking down on kids slacking off. I mean isnt that EXACTLY how we ended up being Larry Coker's Coral Gables country club? We ranted and raved for years about lazy and entitled players who werent held accountable, showed up fat, out of shape, didnt practice, didnt work out. I think EJ is a PHENOMENAL talent and is going to be great here, but he needs to learn discipline and learn to be a LEADER on this team. That is the difference between the cr@ppola that Randy Shannon put on the field, and other players. Shannon recruited raw talent, and never developed jack. Look at all the slugs from Marcus Forston to Ray Ray who never learned discipline, leadership, or work ethic on this team.

This is all part of rebuilding the culture in this program.

not slurping on AG at all cus that UVA game was a dumpster fire. at the same time you have to remember that EJ is probably 19 years old and because of the situation is one of the most important players on this team. that is props to him but also a lot of added responsibility that he may not be ready for and wouldnt be expected to shoulder if we had a veteran team
