I never expected him. I think he's L$U or F$U. That said, to see a top 6 with the gaytors in it is just bizarre. I have a lot of questions.

Y'all worrying mfs just look for any reason to blame rumph. Not every kid wants to go to the U. Everyone ain't built to be a cane plain and simple. It's either in you or it's not. Be happy of the spot we are in with Campbell or the other elite dbs we have committed...

It has nothing to do with Campbell. Rumph got no consideration as a coach. We got no consideration as a program. For Christ's sake, brock, they put the gaytors in the top 6. That's an insult from another top tier local turncoat kid. We're doing better but we're not back to where we need to be. And I'm not going to be happy until we get who we want locally, 9 out of 10 times.

you see what our DB room is gonna look like next season? Maybe them kids believe they have a better shot somewhere else.

I doubt Surtain is running from competition. That said... You're right that if they don't want to be here, so be it. I'm just amazed to see UiF in there in his top 6, especially with all of the trouble there, and not Rumph/UM.

Some kids don't wanna ride the pine in front they family and friends... They'd rather go away and ride the pine somewhere else.
Not saying he's running from competition, just saying he may see better opportunity elsewhere.

Takes a lot of balls to put on in front of your people. Nuff respect to all the kids who do.

Whatever. There's gonna be a lot of sad faces from recruits that don't get on now when we going to our 2-3rd CFP by 2020. This year is just the beginning. 12-1, ACC championship gonna turn heads and with a fully mature squad next year possibly top 5 ALL season, we will see how many locals decide to leave town then. Canes with or without turncoats. Bet that.

That's the slap in the face to me. U have UF in ur top 6 but not Miami?? Knew the kid wasn't coming here but sheesh.

I don't care at all. Surtain has already peaked as a player. His dad has been coaching him. He's already maxed out and hit his ceiling as a prospect.

He's a fine football player, but he's not some elite physical talent. He's just ahead of everyone as far as technique goes because of his dad.

Campbell is the one who is a must-get.

Its easy. Surtain is a elite prospect and a lot of elite prospects still don't see miami as a top program anymore. Not just recruits but people in general. Thats why people are just betting the top guys in this class will flip to teams like bama, osu, and etc.

They have been putting DBs in the league. The last 3 years they have had 4 guys taken in the first 2 rounds.

We have the #3 class in the country but recruits don't see us as a top program? Makes sense.

Richt has always reminded people you're not going to get all the S FL studs. Too many other programs recruit heavily in the area. But a DB class of Jobe, Frierson, Hall, Blades, Ivey, and possibly Campbell is good as ****. If you hate on that there's just no way to help you

I think I'm just going with the Rumph issue with Surtain and Surtain rides with Choad. I'm sickened by this slap once again from a local kid.

at same time, for us to not even be listed in his top 6 is still a problem. This is an LSU/FSU race all day and he still lists others like UF? If Bama or OSU had our DB class and this kid was from Bama or Ohio, he would still have them listed in his top 6. It's a matter of perception IMO. Bottom line, this kid still doesn't think we are worth a **** yet more likely than not. Keep recruiting, crazier **** has happened. Prove it to him that we indeed ARE worth a **** and a serious contender and who knows. LSU may wet the bed, we lose Frierson and Jobe and maybe he will come around. Like I said, crazier things have happened.

I know many will disagree and say "Bama and Ohio State don't have to fight off two other in state schools so of course he would list them" and other reasons but at the end of the day it's JMO. Agree to disagree. When a top 3 player in the STATE, in your backyard, former player under your Corners coach, knows many of our commits/players, etc doesn't even list you in his final 6 BEFORE the season starts REGARDLESS OF YOUR NUMBERS AT THE POSITION, then you aren't where you would like to be pereception wise..yet. And unfortunately perception is reality in this recruiting game we all love to follow.

Well stated. The problem with porsters like Broke is they have to live in a very black and white environment to survive. Nuance and context are lost on them. So if you say "hey guys, it's a bad look that a top player at his position with all these ties to the school and staff doesn't even have us as a finalist" you're hit with "but guysm! He was never even considering us! Campbell or die!" The truth is he's not really considering all these teams either, yet we didn't even make it to the finals and programs like Florida did. If you are intelligent, you can figure out the concept that a player like Surtain listing us as final 6 even though he's not considering us is infinitely better than not making his list given our inherent advantages. Those are not mutually exclusive things. No one here really thought we had a chance, but to not even make the final 6 is a problem for the optics and perception of the program. It isn't an existential crisis for the program, it's just not a great look.

However, optics and perception of a program is a very fickle thing and can change overnight
...or in our case...16 days.
