Would you rather be strung along or know before hand that you aren't getting a kid? This one has been done for a while. He's going to lsu. Campbell doesn't take a backseat to any of the top cbs in the country so oh well

This dude really called getting recruited by every school in the nation a grueling process??? Definitely the son of an 8 figure earner! SMH

I dont think we are not recruiting him. But why waste energy and resources if we are not feeling any love from him. I think Pete said this same thing about Nigel Bethel. That the staff is getting weary of chasing him as we are not feeling any love back. I am all for trying until the bitter end like we did with Jeudy but I am not for wasting time if the kid has shown us zero interest too.

But he has shown interest in UM as he attended more UM home games in 2016 than any other recruit in the 2018 cycle and recently attended a camp at UM and his father was quoted in the article I posted as saying that UM is a school he has interest in. The "he has no interest in UM" is just inaccurate.

Plus everyone acts like this time we spend recruiting him is the most valuable thing in the world. As if us recruiting him is suddenly going to make us unable to contact our current commits or other recruits we are targeting. That isn't how it works.
Also, even if there was an ultimatum, I'd rather us recruit Surtain than Bethel. Bethel is a guy I'd ONLY want after he plays his senior season and we missed out on our other bigger prospects. We get Campbell I straight up don't want Bethel, but I sure as **** would still want Surtain.

I agree I would rather chase Surtain then Bethel as Bethel has shown us little to no love considering he goes to the West which should be a feeder school for us.

Not even in the top 6. But I'm not surprised.

This is a slap in the face to Rumph from the Surtains. With all their connections, why wouldn't he even consider us? I'm not surprised, I never thought he was coming, but it's the why that has me wondering.

Yup...And even more so to me on a day where one of the top 6 is seeing more kids suspended for criminal activity, that dumpster fire is in the top 6 and we aren't. I asked a while back, what's going on between Rumph and Surtain where we don't even get considered???
 
Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't Rumph help Pat Sr get on at AH? And, let the season play out...things can change...although, all I really care about is one Tyson Campbell.

From what I understand, yes...but at the end of the day, it's a business decision. Personally, and I've been tooting this horn all pre season...we win 10+ games w/ a ACC Championship bid and January bowl game, and we'll see some other surprise names.

Regardless of our chances, the fact we aren't in his top 6 is discouraging no matter what anyone says. Like we can't even finish top 6 for the one of the best db prospects in the nation that plays up the road who our corners coach used to coach and hired his father? Yeeesh. Optics are important in recruiting and these aren't great

Yet we are Firmly in the lead group for a top 2-3 corner in the country at the same school in addition to the other studs we have already . It is what it is
 
Honestly, to not make the top 6 makes me wonder if there isn't some kind of beef between the Surtains and Rumph. I mean they're basically saying they'll consider just about any school BUT Miami, because you know there's really only probably a couple he's actually seriously considering.

It's an open and very public sign of disrespect.

Its easy. Surtain is a elite prospect and a lot of elite prospects still don't see miami as a top program anymore. Not just recruits but people in general. Thats why people are just betting the top guys in this class will flip to teams like bama, osu, and etc.

I disagree. I think they know it's Lsu and the surtain's don't even want to play Miami like that. they probably told rumph he's going to lsu and aren't gonna disrespect rumph like that. I'd rather not come in 2nd or 3rd. let the other's come in 2nd or 3rd.
