Here to watch our meathead fans try to justify this stupid crap. College football coaches love to act like they are leaders, and are all knowing when it's time to get those raises and accolades. Amazing how whenever anything terrible happens, they suddenly don't know anything, or were out of the loop. Mario made a comment in regards to Jimmy Johnson on "The U" documentary and it sums up what leadership should be "Anything you do, either I coached you to do it, or ALLOWED you to". Fitzgerald either fully participated in this crap, or he allowed it to happen. It's extremely unlikely that he didn't know, and if these kids felt so incredibly comfortable behaving like this, odds are they knew that Coach was fine with it.
I'll never understand hazing, it's counterproductive and the only serves as an excuse for budding sociopaths to do awful crap to people. We're here to win games, you committing sexual assault on a teammate that you depend on isn't going to bring togetherness or unit cohesion. If you have to rely on humiliation to get people to buy into the culture, your culture is crap to begin with.
