Pat Fitzgerald/Northwestern implosion

Wait a second! Who hired that attorney to do an investigation? The school?

Was there some new information post investigation? If so, was it explored further before the school president backtracked on the deal? Sounds like someone possibly gave into the pressure.

He looks like Pat may have a case. Time will tell but likely he wins some extra $$$ out of this.

No worries, The resident CIS tax attorney’s should be rolling into this thread any minute now with lecture as to how all of this will play out.

Ain't nothing wrong with being skeptical and waiting for more evidence.

It's one thing to be skeptical on an individual basis.

It's another thing to try to compare the "ONE" first person who comes forward (usually the hardest role) with some self-interested "letters of support" from the teammates who did the hazing, and then arrive at a conclusion that blames the media for reporting on a story that is just beginning.

Sometimes the numbers are misleading and the press is actually doing its job.

If some people want to "wait" to judge the facts, maybe they should also "wait" to judge the first accuser and the media too.

Guilty parties don't hire attorneys? Just saying.

What a mess.

Reminds me of the Richie Incognito bullying stuff. Inappropriate things going on for sure, but mostly the cries of a few damaged overly sensitive fragile broken types. Jonathan Martins in an organization/firm/school will get you fired. Doesn't make anything right or acceptable, but reacting to the social media mob instead of following the recommendations in the report is a bad look and reflective of our screwed up culture.

It’s good to see that you are legitimately one of the worst posters on basically every subject.

Just crown him for whatever the worst actor award is for the year

Any ex dry humpers we want from that team? With Fritz being fired they should all be immediately eligible to enter the portal.

I believe they had a couple of solid safeties who could help with depth

If I remember correctly from their depth chart, all their safeties were upperclassmen. Do we really want the dry-humping perpetrators on the team.

Only decent underclass men if I remember correctly:
Backup QB: Brendan Sullivan
DT: Najee Story
CB: Theran Johnson

None are that good, and would require an extensive background check into their involvement in the hazing.

Here to watch our meathead fans try to justify this stupid crap. College football coaches love to act like they are leaders, and are all knowing when it's time to get those raises and accolades. Amazing how whenever anything terrible happens, they suddenly don't know anything, or were out of the loop. Mario made a comment in regards to Jimmy Johnson on "The U" documentary and it sums up what leadership should be "Anything you do, either I coached you to do it, or ALLOWED you to". Fitzgerald either fully participated in this crap, or he allowed it to happen. It's extremely unlikely that he didn't know, and if these kids felt so incredibly comfortable behaving like this, odds are they knew that Coach was fine with it.

I'll never understand hazing, it's counterproductive and the only serves as an excuse for budding sociopaths to do awful crap to people. We're here to win games, you committing sexual assault on a teammate that you depend on isn't going to bring togetherness or unit cohesion. If you have to rely on humiliation to get people to buy into the culture, your culture is crap to begin with.

Student newspaper at northwestern blew open wild hazing practices in the football team that happen with encouragement from Pat Fitzgerald. Standard practice on the team that Freshman who mess up in practices get restrained bent over and then "dry humped" by 8-10 upperclassmen wearing halloween masks in front of the teammates. Fitz would often signal what freshman needed to be hazed. He's been suspended. His career is ovah and the solid program he'd built is going to get wiped out for years. Bad bad.

Sounds as if the football team isn't the only program having issues at the school.
