Palmer transferring

Here's another name, though not eligible immediately

4. Dylan Osetkowski, Tulane Green Wave

The 6-foot-9 Tulane transfer will be one of the more sought-after frontcourt players on the market. He averaged 11.3 points and 8.3 rebounds -- and schools like Texas, Arizona, California, Nebraska, Mississippi State and others have noticed.

Tulane and all of its basketball players suck.

Not bad at all, just not very helpful next year.

Losing Mano and Omar really hurts for next season. Omar really would have helped this year.

If we're taking someone who MUST sit out (not in any order):

1. Daniel Giddens (real Center), 3 years left

=> Would be a great mix between Miller, Giddens and Izundu. One of these guys would develop and be a true presence down low for us.

2. Dylan Osetkowski (PF), 2 years left

=> Replaces Murphy in 2017-18 and I would be fine with him and Huell on the court. This kid is a traditional PF and can rebound well.

3. DeSean Murray (SF), 2 years left

=> Just knows the game and can shoot. I like him to replace Reed's minutes. He also gets a ton of rebounds for a SF.

4. Kory Holden (PG), 2 years left

=> Good if Newton can't be the PG we need and the freshmen are better at SG.

5. Cane Broome (G), 2 years left

=> Essentially does everything and puts up 23 PPG. Can play any guard spot too and a proven player.

No interest in Canyon Barry, Rick's boy?
He competed hard against us this year until we just wore them down

He's visiting temple and Nebraska. Also getting interest from Cincy, Washington, and Cal.

Disagree with everyone here. The only other long athletic wing we have is Lawrence. Palmer is a solid defensive player who can shoot and also can get to the basket. He had a solid year last year and got less minutes this year. Once his minutes went down, he started pressing when he was in and forcing too much. Think this will hurt us next year.

In this day and age in CBB, wings have to be able to stretch the floor and defend. The only exceptions are really the guys that have freakish athleticism or can be prolific scorers by getting to the rim whenever they'd like. Palmer is none of the above.

Exactly, absent a few streaky moments where he would show flashes. Depending on how Coach L uses the extra scholly and where Palmer lands...could be a great move.
