One phone call nearly paired up Cam Ward and Jeremiah Smith

You’re right. On second thought he can just drive to Louisville…

Dalvin Cook was our biggest whiff, as he single handedly beat us 3 straight times

I respectfully disagree here. Cook on those years canes teams would've marginally improved the team overall. Proof of that is in your own words, 1 player out played an entire team. Sure, he would add a few more Ws over those years, but Jeremiah Smith on THIS team would've been landscape shifting beyond the field. QBs would be lining up to throw to him and out TEs. RBs would want to play behind our line knowing we could take the top off passing at any time.

Dalvin was a BIG whiff, just not as big as J. Smith IMO.

Dalvin put up 46 TDs in 3 years along with 4500 yards rushing, he would have single handedly changed the trajectory of this team. He was that special

Mario is already recruiting the OL, RB room at an elite level. They believe in the program. The recruiting wouldn’t magically get better because of Jeremiah Smith but yes he’s a fantastic player.

Miami has the #1 offense in the country this year, #1 in 3rd down, etc, Jeremiah Smith isn’t making it that much better year, It’s hard to be better than #1

This was our biggest recruiting miss in my lifetime. Bigger than Dalvin Cook or Patrick Peterson. The annoying part is many of us were saying so at the time. It's like the NIL people see a 5 star next to his name, a 5 star next to JoJo Trader and Ny Carr's names, and think "oh it's the same thing" or "oh we'll just get a WR1 next cycle."

We were saying Smith was a generational Andre Johnson talent the entire cycle. But they dropped the ball. They can't make up for it this cycle. There's no Jeremiah Smith this cycle. Or probably for the next decade. It's a recruiting miss you don't recover from.

As good as Mario has been at recruting, this one was a massive fail. We should never have let this kid leave South Florida.
Dam if only we we're 6-0 with a Heisman QB.

no, we're not. how about waiting until we show we can hang with the big dogs for even one single season before doing this?
Uhh hate to break it to you but technically we are a playoff team this year considering 12 teams make the playoffs. 🤷‍♂️

Yall really some bitter women its hilarious
Man we're better on the field and recruiting than we've been in 23 years yet we still have soft a z z posters complaining about top 3 classes and the ones that got away.

Smith doesn't remotely look like a Freshman physically. He looks like he's 3/4 years of a professional strength and conditioning program. Pause

Smith was never coming here. If he wanted to play with Cam he could of transferred, asked out of his NLI, etc.....

If we play them for the Natty and he is the deciding factor in the game, this all becomes much more intense.

I’m sure he can see the bigger picture of it all as well as we do …. to an extent.

OSU lost on the road to another top 5 team by 1 point and folks are acting like Smith is gonna leave bc of that loss? Hilarious
