On a couple CB targets…

The spitting is my biggest concern. That’s my biggest pet peeve, not even in sports just in general.

I once punched a slow kid in the face in middle school because he spit in my face playing basketball. I’ve had females threaten to spit at me and I told them I’m breaking their nose if they do lol 100% serious.

There’s not a bigger level of disrespect to me than that. 100% no take for that reason alone.. for me.
My father hates Frank Rijkaard to this day for spitting on a German player during the world cup. He showed me the scene when I was about 8 and told me "If I ever see you do that, I will kick your *** right there on the field".

If you spit on someone at that age, it's safe to say you haven't gotten your *** kicked enough.

Full game? No. There’s more clips than just those 3 out there though coupled with PFF (I don’t love PFF but a good starting point)

It isn’t good.

The Michigan and Ole Miss interest is a little easing for me.
I don't know, but are Ole Miss and Michigan in dire need of immediate help at corner like we are?

Karnley is 6'3", athletic, with 3 years left to play. Their interest (and ours to be fair) might be because they think this guy could become someone like UA CB Tacario Davis in a couple of years.

But if they're not in desperate need of corners who can play at a high level right now, not sure their interest means as much for us considering our situation at corner.

How that go?

Really? So you are telling me this staff takes the approach of seeing who else offered and factors that in? They can't do there own **** evals?
No, they watched the film and made their own evaluation. We, as fans, haven't done that. We don't even have the right film to watch (the TV copy isn't great to watch DBs).

However, we have reason to doubt this staff's DB evaluations based on prior results. It's been bad in high school, and it's been bad in the Portal. That's why I brought up the other two schools recruiting this kid, both of which have a much better track record with DBs.

I'd love to hear from someone who is actually familiar with the player: strengths, weaknesses, style of play. I gave Miami's perspective, but that's one side of the story.

Not sure why y’all are up in Dmoney’s money. He providing some information and relaying some of the propaganda. I imagine 99% of what we hear is controlled or approved messaging. Everyone wants up to minute info but only if it’s info they like.

I don’t want to make it seem like I am attacking D. That isn’t my intention. He can only relay on what he is told as far as who we are pursuing. It’s on us to form our own thoughts after that. My frustration is with this staff and who they are choosing to prioritize. Simple as that.

The bigger issue isn’t the player. It’s being told one thing and seeing another, even if it’s just perception. We were told after the lackluster national Signing Day that we were going to have more money, hit the portal hard for difference makers. These players don’t scream that. They scream depth. Exactly what Dyoni Hill screamed. Enough of that ****.

Still very early. This wouldn't be one of the big bullets.

Only RB and TE for me
Portal RB has been the most consistent upgrade. We have not fared as well with high school RB. Lyle could be different. TE we had Arroyo before Mario and the young guys haven't shown enough imo.

fletch is solid. Won’t be a gamebreaker but a great #2 RB. Hopefully Lyle takes the step and can be RB1 next year. He’s a dude.

I give them portal TE with McCormick. He’s had a good role in the offense and will miss him on short yard situations next year.

god that’s kind of depressing to type out lol

Certainly felt that way to read.

Even if they had good evals I don't think they can develop anyone. I know you're in a difficult spot being the messenger but I don't think anyone who follows this team is going to be happy with anything less than a home run in the secondary until the staff turns over.

If we brought in some DB guru on the staff I would be totally fine with it and I would put more weight into the Ole Miss, Michigan info. For example, Mario identifies an OL prospect, I'm down no matter what. I trust him. I just watched a secondary that was bad somehow get worse over the course of the season. They don't get any developmental points from me.

I’m not knocking Guidry and Jackson but we have to get back to recruiting speed at db and physicality. Bro we literally blew a 21 point lead to a bunch of b- players wtf are we doing man bring in someone who actually knows how to recognize talent in the secondary and can recruit and develop. Mario should’ve hired Raymond and never let him leave south Florida. No he played and now we’re stuck with dbs who get beat on double moves by ******* Syracuse receivers Dmoney this ain’t it bruh tell coach these boys ain’t good enough.

So D let me ask you this: I know you can't be specific but do you believe the defensive staff uncertainty is playing a part in defensive portal acquisition since it's "still very early"?

Do you believe the uncertainty of DC/CJackson (connected at the hip from Marshall) are impacting the DB targets since they are the corners/safeties coaches and this is what we need the most?
