OK, I'm drinking the coolaid now...

What positions do you want us to address in the spring portal?

We still need key players to make me feel better. The roster still needs work. I do think we add some heavy hitters after spring.
I feel like if we get Lucas, a top tier WR, and a starter quality LB then we're an improved roster from this season

roster didn't hold us back though, scheme did. I think hetherman already makes the difference there

Hey guys, new to the board. Is Mario expected to clean house on the defensive side? I’m guessing Chevis Jackson will be gone for sure. Wasn’t sure about guys like D-Nick or Jason Taylor? Really like the DC hire.

More departures, yes. Full house cleaning, no. Joe is already out. Chevis Jackson seems like the next domino. Jason Taylor is protected.

New HC is a LB coach by background so DNich could be out in favor of a safety coach.

Heatherman+Beck = glug, glug, glug on the coolaid.

And now, I will say it - the absolute floor is 9 wins, but I expect 10 or more.

Blast away, y'all! I'm on a Cane high!!
Not sure what proof this bottle of coolaid is but I may have a drinking problem.

they could be a more complete, well-rounded team, but with a tougher schedule.

I feel much better about the overall condition of the program than I did about 10 days ago. Not just in terms of player additions, but Mario has seemingly upgraded in the player personnel department. We have finally have some serious human beings back in there

And we have a respected DC coming in...

I hope people drinking kool aid currently stay to it.

Idk how this season will go after losing our Heisman QB, top 4 WR’s, 2 TE’s, RB, and arguably our best OLineman.

I think it says a lot about our staff that after that there’s even a possibility we end up better next season.

We’ve brought some in guys with multiple years left too. So we should be set up very well for the future

I mean…significant changes did happen.
With all due respect, this board was fearing 2025 Miami would be a rehash of 2024 FSU 2 weeks ago and now we're getting our tickets for Charlotte ready.

And let's temper the significance of these changes. I have high hopes for the new DC and I hope Beck reverts to 2023 form. However, 1 year of experience as DC at a P2 level and a QB coming off a season where he turned the ball over way too much. Not to mention he's having Tommy John surgery so who knows how he comes out of that. There must be varying degrees for that surgery because Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins has been out a season and a half with his and Beck is expected to be able to go back on the field in 4 months.

Gotta believe we will be aggressive as **** in the spring as well

Going into year 4 even Mario has to sense some urgency. I hoped to see it go down like this

We looked to be up **** creek without a paddle. Got a paddle back, but still looking for the other.

Essentially we appear to be in a better position than we were a short time ago. We aren't there yet, we might not be when fall comes around, and we'll see what happens when there's 11 guys across the line wanting what we want, a win.

There's still change coming, roster departures and additions with staff as well. I hope what we do works out and guys stay healthy.

Different recovery times and throwing motions my friend.

It’s been explained in other threads but Beck is NOT having Tommy John surgery. He had a ligament repaired not replaced. Baseball pitchers torque their arms significantly more than quarterbacks because of the way they release certain breaking pitches.

I’m certain the UM medical staff is aware of the procedure and recover period for Beck’s arm.

As for the cry babies who thought the team wasn’t going to add players or coaches to improve and they were just going to repeat 2024 but with Emory instead of Cam. They’re either just miserable ***** who hate everything and want to make everyone else miserable OR, they’re idiots who don’t think that Miami wouldn’t be able to sign better players or hire better coaches. Like everyone else is allowed to improve their teams in the offseason but Miami has to stick with what they have. Anyone with half a brain knew we weren’t riding with Emory and Judd next year.
