Officially, definitively, 2 wins from Charlotte

We will be 20+ point favorites against Wake. They are…bad.

Would be nice to actually take care of an inferior team from start to finish.

Cuse…well, we’ll get there when we get there. But their defense stinks, and Cam should throw for 400+ on them.
Sounds bad but I'm hoping for a Louisville type win against Cuse except we don't let them score on a KR and win by 14.

I just don’t get that people knew we were not going undefeated. Nobody thought this team was running the table, but when we do lose one everybody acts surprised. It wouldn’t matter if lost to Cal, VT, Cuse…we were probably the favourites in all of them.

It just happens that this was the week. Be ****ed, sure, but move on and know that 20 year olds don’t show up some times. The days of undefeated or bust are gone, for better or worse. Win and in.
So, yes. No1 thought we were going undefeated before the season. We also didn’t think our defense would be this bad that we would need to be the best offense in the country to get to where we are. It’s the eyeball test. The defense has people have having heart attacks weekly and without Cam having a historic season. We are closer to a 7-5 type team even with the very weak schedule. I’m enjoying the ride, but also left scratching my head on how the defense is this bad after a 3 seasons. Teams aren’t even trying to do anything really crazy on us. We are just slow and can’t tackle.

We have to beat Wake, Syracuse and SMU in order to get a first round bye in the playoffs. With Cam Ward and a bye as part of the equation it would be a massive failure to fall short.

Of course, but the loss was expected in the playoff not against a one armed QB, an absent RB, and a team that ran a pop warner offense. This is one of the most inept defenses I've ever seen at Miami.

After the last 20 years, we're going to have "questions about Mario" in a 10-2 regular season?
Yes. You choked. 10-2 with this schedule especially how it played out is a cause for concern. And if we are being honest, you should be 9-3. That was targeting at Cal. So yes, there should be. Go 11-1 and win in Charlotte and we can over look this disgrace.

I didn't do anything.

If you think one bad loss is cause for questioning the head coach, you have not watched college football, maybe ever.

The defense is a mess, but Ward needs to stop playing hero ball. He turns down check downs holding the ball looking for a bigger play thst isn't there. Sometimes the defense wins, especially going against safe deep coverage. He's not patient. That's my biggest criticism. We had 2nd and 10 on the fumble that ended the game. There were 2 check downs on the play that were wide open and chose not to take them looking for a bigger play.

Cam has to take what the defense gives him. The risk of a sack even if he doesn't fumble puts Miami in 3rd and 15+ vs 3rd and 5-. I'm not in the take the good with the bad camp. I wish Dawnson would get in his ear and on his a**!!! Just because he's great doesn't mean he can't be coached hard or give him the right to put the team at risk in a critical position.

The loss wasn't on Cam, but he has to play smarter. Play the down, the distance, and the clock. There was no need to take the unnecessary risks for a low percentage throw given the coverage, the down, and the time remaining in the game.
Joe Montana used to say he’d alway take the easy short throws in his 2-minute O to get the drive heated up.,
I don’t mind Cam’s hero ball during the game.
With over a minute and a half and 2 TO’s, early in that drive was not the spot.

I mean Mario by stating "you." Also, read what I said, if he wins out and goes 11-1, we should all overlook yesterday. I would be satisfied. Bottom line, they better be in Charlotte otherwise, next season will be a disaster and they should let him go. You chocking down the stretch with thus schedule shows that you are a pu$$y for a head coach. Hopefully, that doesn't happen.

Why would we care if a fan of another team is "satisfied"?

Team is on schedule. 9-1 heading into the 2nd bye week with a chance at the ACC championship.

Yes yesterday sucked but the team is 9-1 with a chance to get healthy over the bye week and regroup.

It’s 100% on them to win out. No excuses. Both games will be tough cause the defense is awful. No changing that at this point. Offense has to be perfect to win.

Let’s see if the players respond and win out.

These fans are acting like Miami has been a juggernaut for the last 20 years haha

They expect championships every year all the sudden in yr 3 in a total rebuild?

10-2 is actually progress and success in my opinion with this awful defense.

Hopefully Miami finds a way to go 11-1 cause that’s a huge step forward after the last two years.

Make no mistake, Miami is still far away from being elite though. Coaching and players have to get better in the off season

I know, I know. We’ll lose by 100 to Wake and Syracuse. I got it.

I’m only posting this because I’m seeing a ton of people in threads who don’t understand this.

With Pitt’s loss to UVA tonight, Miami clinches a trip to Charlotte with wins against Wake and Syracuse. That’s it. No fuzzy tiebreakers, no rooting for other teams to lose, no hopes and prayers, no math.

It’s simple.

Win your next 2 games, you go to Charlotte. Win that, you get a bye and top 4 seed in the playoffs.

I’m not going to discuss scenarios, and listen to people say we’ll get beat by 60 blah blah blah. This is only a thread for people who want to see the team play in Charlotte and possibly win the ACC.

You have nothing else to pay attention to other than Miami’s next 2 games. If they win those, Miami goes to Charlotte. No exceptions.
Yes, ignore the terrible football you see on the field and just focus on math, because that’s why we waste our time watching all this.

We are honestly sooooo lucky -
Guidry better get his head out his *** and create some type of identity with his unit, it’s actually a joke
Either play man and get after the QB or play zone, just not sure if we know how to play zone.
He may also think about sitting a few guys like Barron and a few others against Wake to see if he can light a fire under their ***.
JUST DO SOMETHING PLEASE WITH THIS DEFENSE.

honestly we might even get in if we lose the ACC title game. we lost close to GT, if we lose close to SMU, - the committee has made it a point to try and not penalize teams for losing in their conference title games - and thus rewarding those that don't go to title games
Look at this objectively.
The rankings could look like this:
1. Oregon
2. OSU
3. Texas
4. PSU
5. Tennessee
6. BYU
7. Indiana
8. ND
9. Bama
10. Ole ****
11. UGA
12. SMU
13. Miami

Sitting possibly at 12/13 as we speak, there is no way we can absorb an ACCCG loss and still make it.

EDIT:
As it stands now, there will be 5 teams from the SEC and BIG that will make the playoff while not playing in their CCG.
