They weren’t winning out. They still got Clemson, Louisville, and bcPitt lose was a godsend.
no, but it was nice to have them lose on the same day, turn the page tomorrow and the team knows everything is in front of themThey weren’t winning out. They still got Clemson, Louisville, and bc
I agree with most of what you said. It’s like we have 4 3 techs playing on the line and it’s too slow and clunky especially with those god awful Diaz stunts. Bain is either still hurt or put on too much weight. He needs to be inside. I want to see mesidor out on end of baron with a twitcher guy on the other end. It’s not like we set the edge anyways with our large dline may as well throw them out there. Two weeks to prepare. It's like Mario said. The GT loss has to hurt. The effort for 3 quarters was pathetic. No energy. Every game is a playoff game. That's the mentality and urgency that has to be there at the kickoff and it isn't. You can tell because you see a different team at the end of the game stepping up when stops have to be made. That points to culture still being an issue. Too many guys look like they're just happy collecting checks.
Guidry is not making enough personnel adjustments. I don't care if the young guys don't have experience. They are more talented, more athletic, and can make the plays that the veteran starters physically can't.
LB and DE play has been a liability. The starting DEs don't maintain an edge and get beat easily on outside runs. I love Bain, but he needs to move inside next year. He's nearly 280 now and is likely a DT in the NFL. We have so many fast and twitchy DEs that don't play. They are young, but they need playing time because they can erase so much of what GT and other teams are doing to our defense. The same goes for LB. Popo is injured, but Popo, Pruitt and Washington can play side to side and cover RBs and TEs in space.
It's time to put fear of youth aside. Get them in the game plan for WF and then Giidry will have options to match the personnel offenses are throwing at him.
Even if SMU loses and us, them and Clemson all have 1 loss?I know, I know. We’ll lose by 100 to Wake and Syracuse. I got it.
I’m only posting this because I’m seeing a ton of people in threads who don’t understand this.
With Pitt’s loss to UVA tonight, Miami clinches a trip to Charlotte with wins against Wake and Syracuse. That’s it. No fuzzy tiebreakers, no rooting for other teams to lose, no hopes and prayers, no math.
It’s simple.
Win your next 2 games, you go to Charlotte. Win that, you get a bye and top 4 seed in the playoffs.
I’m not going to discuss scenarios, and listen to people say we’ll get beat by 60 blah blah blah. This is only a thread for people who want to see the team play in Charlotte and possibly win the ACC.
You have nothing else to play attention to other than Miami’s next 2 games. If they win those, Miami goes to Charlotte. No exceptions.
I want to see the future now. Some of the mercenaries are just collecting a check. I feel like the culture is there with the young players recruited out of high school. They are more athletic and have a higher ceiling. I want them playing this year and starters next year. I don't give a s**t about some transfer in the portal that has a bunch of experience and stats. The duded are on the team. Let them eat!!!I agree with most of what you said. It’s like we have 4 3 techs playing on the line and it’s too slow and clunky especially with those god awful Diaz stunts. I can’t even fault Francisco idk why you insist on him on an island every game when he should be going downfield.
For culture there are for sure some issues with individuals. Nowhere near as bad as fsu. One player that I will call out is Sam brown. I’ve defended him too long on this board. He straight up does not give a **** and that’s on coaching leaving him in there. He’s not going pro and would tell him to hit the portal absolutely nothing redeeming from his body of work or effort.
I agree man. I’ll believe it when I see the players out there I feel like this has been a topic/issue since Richt rewarding poor upper classmen play. Obviously zaquan had coverage busts but I’d rather see him out there not scared or get juked out of his cleats by a rb making a simple cut.I want to see the future now. My kind of thread . 9-1 team that can win the ACC and have a first round bye.I know, I know. We’ll lose by 100 to Wake and Syracuse. I got it.

Let's keep it 100. This team is a handful of plays from being 2-4 in ACC play. The only games where Miami had the game controlled are Florida and FSU. They' only came ready to play against their rivals. All the other games the team has looked lethargic in the 1st half. That's not a team handling their business. My kind of thread . 9-1 team that can win the ACC and have a first round bye.
I’d love the 2001 hurricanes too but that ain’t real life. Winning the ACC has to be goal number 1 and you accomplish that it’s a great season.
Idk i can't see it, we will find out tomorrow but I fully expect to be ranked around 12 tomorrow. Have been hearing negativity about how we win all year and then lose to a 5 win team. I would imagine it would also depend on how we look against wake and Syracuse.honestly we might even get in if we lose the ACC title game. we lost close to GT, if we lose close to SMU, - the committee has made it a point to try and not penalize teams for losing in their conference title games - and thus rewarding those that don't go to title games
Nah....they need to make room for all the sec teams they'll try to jam in.honestly we might even get in if we lose the ACC title game. we lost close to GT, if we lose close to SMU, - the committee has made it a point to try and not penalize teams for losing in their conference title games - and thus rewarding those that don't go to title games
Doesn't make a bit of difference...Notre Dame scored 52 on FSU. The transitive property doesn't work lol. Just win out, no excusesBC scored 37 against Cuse today
Miami controls its destiny. Pitt lost and Miami holds the tiebreaker with Clemson. The rankings don't matter besides getting the 3rd vs 4th seed.Idk i can't see it, we will find out tomorrow but I fully expect to be ranked around 12 tomorrow. Yea we are saying the same thing. I can't see miami getting in the CFP with 2 losses.Miami controls its destiny. Pitt lost and Miami holds the tiebreaker with Clemson. The rankings don't matter besides getting the 3rd vs 4th seed.
Make no mistake, Miami is NOT making the CFP unless they win the ACC title. How appropriate that is. Miami needs it's 1st ACC title to get to the CFP.
Anything less than an ACC title is a failure. Lose to 1st year conference member SMU and Miami has never won an ACC title? That can't happen. It would be devastating.
