Official Pro day numbers

What really stands out is just how seniors we had, and out of that bunch, how few of them were any good. I haven't seen many successful teams with this few quality seniors.

and it's the exact opposite with our basketball team.

Hoping Davon can get on as a FA... Great year, wish he got a chance earlier in his career....glue hands this year, good luck DJ

Buchanan had a good day. His 40 would have been the second best at the combine for linebackers. Reps of 225 are above average. Broad jump is fine. If he did that at the combine, he would have been a star of the show at linebacker.

I'm surprised he's still only 215 pounds. IMO, he should have stayed at safety. He doesn't play well in traffic.

Preaching to the choir, meng. Dr. Lu and myself were saying that cat shoulda been a safety 50 years ago when Bill Young was here.

Then, he would have been a sh#t Safety. This dude can't play. Doesn't matter where you try to re-invent him. Guys got all lathered up over him because he's a good athlete in gym shorts. On the field, he's terrible.

I didn't think he was soft or lacking instincts. Just out of position. Give him some green grass in front of him and he's a wiry, aggressive player with nasty closing speed. At linebacker he was just too light and got caught up in the muck with bodies around him.

He's not an ideal safety in terms of ball skills and fludiity, but he had enough speed (faster than Ray Ray and VT) and made plays there as a scout-team freshman.

He's an in-the-box Safety in a Cover 3 scheme or something like what VTech uses. He would have been better off playing at another school. Maybe he never becomes anything in the pros, but he could have produced more in college.

I don't think he was soft. But I disagree with you completely and absolutely on the instincts issue. I think he's clueless and has zero feel or instincts for the game. The only thing he did well was blitz off the edge because he could use his athleticism to run in a straight line and just hit someone. Anything else, and he was a total disaster.

I agree that he could have produced more in college because he produced next to nothing. So, that's not much of a standard. Above-average athlete. Terrible player.

Thats what stood out to me as well. Its also why IM not surprised. We saw these numbers play out on the field over the past couple seasons.

I'll re-phrase: I believe he could have been a multiple year starter and decent contributor at a top 25 school if he had been in the right situation.

Thanks for the re-phrase. I think he would have sucked wherever he was because he's a ****** football player with no feel for the game. He was here forever and never showed anything and never progressed.

VT might be my least favorite player in UM history.

Remember Randy landing him out of Cali and the slurpers saying how he beat Pete for a kid.

Meanwhile Slippery Pete was laughing it up on the way to bang two 18 year old UCLA *******.

LULZ. I always laughed at the concept of Shannvo beating Pete for a guy that Pete didn't want.

VT had no business being a starter. like the kids attitude but he is just not very good. solid backup in CFB
