We did try for Wilson pretty aggressively but I agree with you

If you can upgrade you always should try but same time the young guys across the DL need to step up

If Beck is 100.0%, I’ll be shocked if this team isn’t very good.

The OL and DL should be very good. It’s almost hard to suck as a football team if you kick people’s asses on both sides of the line.

This should be one of the 5-15 best teams in the country. The way Mario has acquired talent and a HEALTHY Beck gives this team a pretty high floor, imo.

I mean not that all those guys are 3 down DEs but that is a pretty solid 5 deep lol I would honestly be shocked to not lose someone on DL and LB in the spring portal. New DC, probably some personalities wont jive, passed up for playing time whatever but couple that with D$ comment about needing another LB as well seems we are making contingency plans which is smart.

With essentially only 2 LB on the field the fact none of the upperclassman (chase smith, Wes, Popo) are getting a ton of buzz and the buzz seems to be around Pruitt and Wiley and who knows what is going on with Bobby and Hayes but we have numbers in the room

yup we need to let all of our d line eat . I don't want our d line looking like last years wr's corp with not letting the younger guys get any action.

but at the same time our wr's last year were all studs , so I cant hate on it too much

No reason to hate. It's not like these are hot takes. Someone needs to start at slot, and Ray Ray isn't looking like a world-beater right now. Mesidor is NFL caliber DE in my opinion. But Blount is special. He's definitely going to be in the rotation. So if that's "taking snaps" from Mesidor, you're correct. If Scott doesn't at least split reps with Blay and Moten, we're ****ed at DT. And if Horton can finally be healthy, we all know he's got talent.

Now if you said Mesidor, Moten and Blay will be relegated to being backups, I'd say 👀.

Bryant had a LB body but was too slow IMO, he's a bust IMO. Too small and slow for DE as well, may transfer eventually or be here awhile like a Chase Smith. He is basically a depth piece and younger guys will pass him on the roster. That was a miss by the staff, it happens all the time even in the NFL draft.

Naw man Malik Bryant had some big moments last year for us in his 2nd year. He looks even bigger this offseason too in the practice photos

Exactly what I been thinking as well when you're very good in the trenches it limits the floor of this team. You could have Emory at QB but if you have good to great trenches you'll still win a ton of games

Lots of Lofton hype. Where is he going to make an impact? Receiving, blocking, carrying, etc?

Last year he was the Rueben Bain of 2024 but didn't see it on the field. The hype has carried over to 2025, so I'm just wondering where he's going to line up and make an impact.

This isn't a troll post - just an honest question.
