wait, will the NOA contain potential sanctions? i thought that is handled by the Committee on Infractions. Please clarify.

Posters are saying if the NOA contains certain language we can expect certain sanctions based on prior precedent. Still two separate documents.

They are gonna give more postseason bans, bet the house on that. We wasted two years "self imposing".

"lack of institutional control" vs. "failure to monitor".

USC was nailed with LIC and Ohio State with FTM.

30 scholarships over 3 years vs. 9 over 3 years.

3 year postseason ban vs. 2 year postseason ban (REALLY ONLY ONE YEAR WITH SELF IMPOSED BAN).

HUGE DIFFERENCE!

USC got a 2 year bowl ban and OSU got 1. They never self imposed.

This is my concern. I'm not expecting any sympathy for present good behavior. Unless of course we have good "political connections" (friendships, bribes, golf-club memberships, etc.) with the NCAA.

These folks inspire skepticism. I'm hoping mine becomes unjustified.

i thought so, but since this board is full of NCAA compliance experts with years of experience and hundreds of cases handled, i just thought my understanding of the process might have been wrong.

If they do, good luck getting any cooperation from anyone in the future. I think they have to just stick with scholarship reductions and probation, with the bowl bans as already out of the way. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot for future investigations if they give more bowl bans.

Mizzou coach Frank Haith says glad to hear NCAA investigation at Miami apparently near end, says has not heard from NCAA

Highly doubtful. Like others posted, UNC got 1 yr, OSU got 1 yr, and USC got 2, and they didnt self-impose. We self-imposed 2, including a conference championship game. Definitely lose scholarships, but Id bet that we are done with post-season bans

^^^^This. Unless there are significant allegation none of us know about, the postseason bans will not continue.

I hope you are right but I'm not as optimistic. The NCAA can pretty much do whatever they want. I think they are going to give us one more bowl ban just to avoid any possibility of a public perception that Miami got off with a slap on the wrist.
