Norvell traded kromenhauck for the BC qb??

Nah bro; DJU was inaccurate af at Oregon State. He was pedestrian at best.
57% completion
Avg. 220 yrds/g

He was more game mgr. DJU, man….he’s a curious case study. Not only was he a top 3 QB coming out, but he looked like a Top 3 QB coming out when he came in for Trevor Lawrence. His drop off going from a future 1st Rd QB to a future CFL QB is wild. His mechanics r god awful, & I’m not sure where his athleticism went.

This is all true.

However, @gacaneaddict was trying to tell us how amazing Castellanos was at Boston Collge based on something he did in 2023. And when you look at it, Castellanos's 2023 season is fairly similar to DJU's 2023 season.

So first look at Castellanos in 2023. His passing numbers are fairly consistent from 2023 to 2024, even though he threw about half the passes in 2024 that he threw in 2024. He is slightly more accurate in 2024 and threw for more TDs (on average) in 2024. His running in 2023 was great, but then really fell off in 2024.

Now, here is DJU in 2023. Nearly identical attempts, completions, and completion percentage. DJU threw for more yardage and TDs. His running is not as strong when it comes to yardage, but he scored 6 TDs.

Thus, when @gacaneaddict tries to tell us how this is a "massive upgrade" for F$U, it looks like they got a QB who had a nearly identical 2023 year to DJU. DJU actually threw for more yards and ran for less, but Castellanos accounted for ONE WHOLE TOUCHDOWN more than DJU (28 TDs to 27 TDs).

So we can rag on DJU all day and all night, but Castellanos and DJU look to have had very similar overall production in 2023.

Well, he better be a F**king Magician, bc as good as Jordan was he had a plate full of really good draft picks playing along side. Don’t think Norvell can repeat that show.
Not really. He got to 10 wins in 2022 with Travis, 2 decent running backs and Johnny Wilson. That offense was not that talented. Nobody believes or is saying he can take Castellanos and go undefeated.

The only difference is Castellanos can run his *** off, while DJU was just a fat ***.

Yea, but I think Kromenhoek has a higher ceiling. It's clear now, and should be used against him constantly in recruiting that Mikey Mike is not interested whatsoever in developing. He is mercenary only and hope it all fits together.

Not sure where Kromenhoek is from but he has some of the same traits that Haynes King has. Not nearly the player but you see the some similarities in their game.
What happened there.

Norvell knew that he was bringing in a very raw, very highly rated quarterback in Kromenhoek that was probably a multi-year project. Yet he was also their most highly rated QB recruit in many years. But he's cast off a year later?

The history and development of their quarterbacks recently....geesh

2024:
Luke Kromenhoek (.9718) - Transfer portal after one season
Trever Jackson (.8972)

2023:
Brock Glenn (.8878)

2022:
AJ Duffy (.9306) - Transfer portal after two seasons

2021:
None signed

Dude, FSU had 10 players drafted in the 2024 draft, ya think they had something to do with that undefeated run? Next season’s team won’t come close to that, bc Norvell sucks at recruiting/portal. Hint,.. lightning doesn’t strike twice

TC threw for 2K and ran for 1K in a single season for BC with 27 Total TDs.

This is a massive upgrade for FSU.

its makes them much more competitive, they may can get to a bowl game
Is it? There's a reason why Bill O'Brien benched him and NEVER bothered to play him again and straight up called him soft and a quitter. Castellanos is a decent QB, but you don't give up on a 5 star kid that flashed some potential, for a one year rental, a guy that has been at multiple stops and hasn't shown himself to be anything other than an athlete pretending to play QB.

I'm convinced that Norvell doesn't believe in his own offensive system, nor in his ability to develop a QB. When you rely on guys being superlative athletes for your offense to work, there's a good chance that you will eventually run into this problem. It took years for Jordan Travis to become that guy, by the time he left, he was a grown man playing against boys. Lightning in a bottle isn't a sustainable strategy.

Luke K stinks. TC is miles better right now. Norvell needs to win this seaon or show massive improvement. He can't win 3-4 games, and TC is good enough to win ACC games with a weaker league schedule next season.

They play Miami and Clemson but no Cuse, GT, Louisville, SMU.

What does the total number of people drafted in 2024 have to do with the offense in 2022? Who said they were gonna go undefeated? All I said was Castellanos is a worse version of Jordan Travis and that Norvell got a lot out of a 2022 offense that only had Travis, Johnny Wilson and two decent RB’s
