Their recruiting has been so weird. For most of the process they went for all the big fish or nothing plan. There was a time where all their commits were 4 and 5 stars. Now that they have lost a few of them, they are now (Oct) starting to look into 3 star players. They just got an OL from up there cause they didn't get Max Buchanan to flip. I feel like their coaching staff is just as arrogant as their fanbase with the attitude of we don't need any 3 stars. They should have been recruiting 3,4 and 5 stars from the jump.

It’s a far cry from the days when Bowden would instruct players to commit elsewhere and then flip on signing day to build that momentum/perception. But now, they are being embarassed by the big fish. And they may have been able to get solid lunchpail types there if they had originally focused on them. But now, they have to hope that the logo itself Carries weight and people will ignore the total death of talent and the 1 win season. It is glorious to watch. The arrogance with which they thought they were too good for the acc. How do you sell this to any recruit in this era of college football

Love the part about having to run up the score to cover the spread. Well duh when the spread is Miami -22 or something like that the only way to cover would be to run up the score genius. Also pretty sure Mario wasn't running the score up to hit the spread he just wanted to beat them by as much as possible.

That might kill their program. They’d have to go super portal heavy. Like 30-40 guys. Forcing them to take anybody next season from the HS ranks. They’ll have to take 20-30 portal guys for probably 3 years in order to just field a team. This isn’t even talking about turning things around. This is making a team that can line up and not kill 18 year old kids every week.
