They are bottoming out and that’s the only way Norvells seat is warm. Man I don’t want them to fire him never did even when they went undefeated I was saying please keep him at HC. He doesn’t recruit well and you will eventually lose if you do not recruit at an elite level. That’s the fact that never changes in major cfb. Everything changes but that.
Not sure even that gets him fired. They owe him $75M if they fire him this year. FSU is not Texas A&M they do not have that kind of money. So unless Norvell does something stupid that allows them to void his contract and not pay the buyout I don't see it happening for at least a couple of years.

Right didn't sexton set him up with a fully guaranteed contract like Jimbo, so they'd be on the hook for 80 mil with like 75% up front?

Sexton fleecing everyone out here
All based on the fact Bama supposedly wanted but it turns out DeBoer/Lanning were the choices all along. The funny part is I'm pretty sure Sexton is DeBoer's agent as well so you know he knew the truth but still parlayed it into a win for himself and his 2 clients.

You never know though

Hes good at doing what he does have to give him that, I feel like he represents all college coaches

The one good thing for Novell about them tanking is he will have no choice but to cut a lot of dead weight off his staff. Don't know much about him, but for him to not fire guys like Randy Shannon and Ron Dugans up until now he must be loyal to a fault. Or maybe his rolodex just sucks. Lot harder to sell the program to good coaches now than it was after last season though.

Can you imagine coming off an 13-1 season and even the year before and then the first sign of issues...3 games in nonetheless and they are already warming up the banners to fly

I mean fans are truly insane. Its why I never pursued higher levels of coaching college. Not because I didnt believe I was capable but the first sign of trouble they want you out. Yes sometimes its very warranted. But others its just a down year or an injury that one year later you can be right back on top (That is not FSU they have way bigger issues all over that roster...I'm just on a rambling tangent).

Outside of a scandal, this has to be one of the fastest timelines from new contract to potential firing that I've ever seen. I mean, 5 of the 6 months since the extension were the offseason.

On August 23rd Seminole nation was on top of the world. Twenty two days later and they want him fired. Twenty two days.

College fans are crazy but there’s probably very few examples of HCs being canned when they didn’t deserve it. There’s always going to be a section of fans that want their coach fired unless they win a natty, just the nature of the business but I wouldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to put their family through that.

Norvell’s tenure at FSU:

Year 1- Disaster
Year 2- Disaster
Year 3- Good Season (saved his own job as his seat was pretty warm)
Year 4- Great (big extension)
Year 5- Disaster

FSU got swindled and reality is setting in. He can’t recruit at a big time level and won’t be able to replicate that portal success. I do think he’s earned the opportunity to try though (even though FSU doesn’t have a choice financially).

He needs to replace DJU. If he had done that last week, the noise might have been less. IDK. But he seems to be sticking with his boy. We shall see tomorrow. Not sure either of the other two are any better but at least the fan base would think he tried..
