Nick saban to texas?

Saban leaving Alabama to go coach Green Bay is slightly less likely than him joining the circus as a freak show midget.

I get that UT has some nice facilities, fan support, and all...but why would anyone want to go to such a dysfunctional situation?

$10 million?

I suppose so, but this is all a bunch of mental *********ion on the part of Texass' fan base...they'll fire Strong and wind up hiring someone like Greg Schiano.

Saban's already got the inbred contingent covered at Alabama, why would he want to trade it for a ****tier situation with burnt orange inbreds?

Come on now. If Texas offered Saban $10 mil, Bama would counter with $10,000,001. Those mouth breathing inbreds care more about Bama football than their own families. They will not be outbid for Saban's services.

No offense, but Bama can't compete w/ Oil Money.

Maybe. But I don't see any way another school snags Bama's lord and savior away from them for a couple mil. No possible way the Red Elephant Club allows that to happen.

Oh you know the good ole folks down in Bama would rather set UT on fire and do a bid v. allowing Saban to leave. Lol. Pretty sure they would offer up their daughters and or wives of that meant keeping Saban at Bama. Lol. I'm just saying from a financial standpoint, I don't think any school could outbid UT. They got oil billionaires and mega millionaires as their boosters and they love their football just like Bama, if not more since Football Friday's is literally an off day for many cities out there.

Only place that I think could remotely make Saban leave Bama is when Mike McCarthy gets fired and the Packers job opens up. Though even then, I think Saban stays at Bama for the rest of his career.

The Packers don't pay anywhere near as much as Bama does.

Why do you think Saban would leave for money, and for money alone?
The fact is the Packers have the best history of any team in the NFL. It is the dream job of just about anyone that aspires to coach professionally.

Saban is 65 years old. He has nothing left to prove in college. His legacy is already set in stone. If he ever wants to try to win a Championship in the NFL he's running out of time. So it comes down to if he has any goal of doing anything in the NFL. If the Packers job does indeed open up, and he gets offered the job, thats tough to pass up, especially when you would get the best QB in the NFL with some good weapons around him.

Now if I were him, I'd just stay at Bama and win as many championships as possible with the time I have left. But I wouldn't make the decision based on how much money I'd be making. It'd be about where I want to live/retire and what my goals as a coach are.

What makes you think Saban thinks like you?

If Saban thought like him he'd be a 65 year old Quality Control Coach.

If you guys think anything but the goal of winning a SB is gunna make him leave Bama, YOU are the idiots. Hes going to be the highest paid coach no matter where he goes.

This board just doesn't get Alabama. It doesn't matter if they don't have the money Texas does, no one is out bidding Alabama for Saban.

Lol, uh no, you are just forgetting how deep the pockets of the Texas boosters are in combination with the fact that the Texas football program is still far more profitable than Bama. They could throw $25 million at Saban if they wanted and still be more profitable than Bama.

This. Not sure what folks don't understand about this. I couldn't care less about "oil money." Bama will not be outbid by anyone for Satan.

Idk...i feel like Texas may get desperate enough to offer weird things like rebuilding the stadium and naming the new one after him...didnt they offer a recruit a share of an oil rig?

Because you guys are saying someone with $5 won't be outbid by someone with $10. Forgive us if it sounds confusing.

While I don't want to speak for anybody, and not to say that I wasn't thinking it, but nobody called you an idiot. Not sure where you are getting that from. I just have a hard time believing that if he came to the NFL he could demand more money than say...Bill Belichek. He deserves to be the highest paid college football coach, few would argue that, however he has done nothing to warrant being the highest paid coach in the NFL.

We all know it isnt happening, but if Nick can convince Bama it could...$$$$$

So you're telling me that Alabama, who has **** near 100 coaches on staff, who foots the bill for Sabans multi million dollar mansion, who's players openly drive around in brand new whips and flash wads of cash without fear of prosecution because they have Emmett and the NCAA in their back pocket, would be willing to throw it all away and let Saban leave over a couple mil? You're crazy if you think that's even a possibility.

Harbaugh's $9,004,000 salary includes two $2 million interest-free loans -- coming in the form of annual life-insurance premium payments -- one of which he received June 3 and the other he will receive if he is still coaching Michigan on Dec. 6. Harbaugh’s $7 million annual contract ranked second among coaches in 2015, trailing only Alabama’s Nick Saban, who earned $7.087 million.

That sums it up.

Alabama would sell the entire state to China to raise money before they'd let anyone get over on them. If he left it wouldn't be because of money.
