Seantrel can't even tell basic formations, doesn't know Football. [Seantrel played one year under highly respected, future BAMA OL coach, and current Eagles OL coach Jeff Stoutland, and 3 yrs under current ("5-titles") & legendary UM OL coach Art Kehoe.] These, amongst others, were the shocking revelations of NFL staffer watching Seantrel at practice with top Seniors awaiting the draft and interviewing with him during that week. The current UM OL coach has been in Football for over thirty years, including professional stints and, of course, playing and coaching at UM for more years than any other homosapien. While Kacy Rogers says that his best Football is in front of him while being ridiculed by online fans, the question is the development of UM Football players. While Sam Shields only played CB for one year and didn't know formations nor how to watch film, what does this say about such ignorance from this UM OL player's development & preparation that has started games since his Freshman year?

We have almost an entire staff of recruiters. It's not a secret that, for some time now, our guys are simply behind the curve when it comes to the technical aspect of football.

However, I'm not sure Seantrel is a good example of this issue. He's not exactly the most diligent player or student of the game. If he wants to ride the wave now as yet another excuse, I think that shows more about him than it reveals about the way our program is structured.

dont blame the coaches for him. they said over and over he wasn't getting it. seantrel is lazy and a was not committed 100% to his team once during his 4 years.

Actually, i thought the write-up on Linder was that he showed poor technique.

*shrugs*

Meh. I saw several write-ups and posted links to a few in one of the Senior Bowl threads. The views were all over the place. Some said how well he performed in spots. Some said how DL got underneath him in spots. Most of it sounded like scouting jargon. If there's anything I've learned over the past couple years, it's that (1) I don't believe anything that is said about prospects BEFORE they are drafted and (2) media "scouts" do a whole lot of "scout talk" without referencing plays or video.

linder isn't exactly a stud. i mean he is good but lets be real, he has gotten blown up a few times. Flowers is the best nfl prospect we have.

I said it once and i'll say it again.....i love Kehoe the person, the Cane, and the passion he has for this team. I enjoyed him in the 30 for 30 and know he bleeds orange and green.

But i am NOT a fan of Kehoe the coach. I have been underwhelmed with how his lines performed and with their fundamentals. I thought our Oline got MUCH better when Stoutland came in and changed things. How well respected was Stoutland? He went to Bama and then the NFL.

Physically, our OLine should have dominated last year. Guys like Flowers, Feliciano, Linder and Henderson are all NFL players. There is absolutely NO REASON we should not have been able to run the ball down people's throats, picked up a majority of the 3rd and short plays, and kept our QB upright. Yet we continued to struggle once again.

part of it was Coley too. I hate that stretch play we use all the time. I know we didn't have the backs for it, but dammit with an O-line the size we have, just put a hat on a hat and move the **** ball. Its like our whole team sometime was some idealist face, when they should just be using what we have.

I personally think he's weak . He got away with pure size before. Does anyone knows his strength numbers??

Lu's correct, this is on the player. I also agree with the statement that Miami needs to use their size to their advantage. They were huge LY but still couldn't get a push at times.

Money is the greatest motivator. Seantrel will be great in the NFL. Hope the Dolphins grab him!!

I hope you don't have a vested interest in that. Some things you can over-come, but lazy is a very difficult trait to reverse.

Seantrell would be a top 5 pick if Seantrell put in the work. I could care less how he does on the next level.

Flowers had Anton of potential but didn't play like a future first rounder last year.

Our two best lineman didn't graduate this year. Next years line will the best we've had in a while.

I disagree. It's college football, you have to be able to get the most out of the talent recruited. I understand that there are less practices and players have to do their part, but teams like VAtech get the most out of their talent. Players come to Miami to underachieve more frequently than at other places, it has to stop in order for us to become elite.
