Next years QB....

In the limited time that I've seen Williams he looked pretty decent. He distributed the ball nicely and was smooth.

Don't really care about who's got the rocket arm or all the physical tools, just give me somebody with a **** brain who can make the proper throws.

he only played against garbage *** teams.

I am still highly skeptical that Williams is starter worthy at Miami. I just dont see it

agreed. And the offense seemed to have a much better flow to it. Seems to get the into a rhythm and not break it. Hope he will be trusted to not have to look back at the sideline on every snap 3 times

Ahh, exactly. Flow is the perfect word I was looking for. You hit it on the head.

Agreed. When Morris got into rhythm we saw a guy who was borderline unstoppable. Unfortunately it didn't happen much this season.

Williams had a nice tempo when he was in there, you can tell he works hard. That said i think Olsen is going to be the goods and get named starter late in the process before the season starts.

Olsen should start. Just for the fact Al needs to start getting this position ready for future seasons, not just the next one.

Yet i feel Williams will get the nod because he is a senior that has paid his dues.
Well said couldn't agree more

Most of the guys who have been successful at Miami to my knowledge have been brain guys over physical tool guys, so if Williams is that lets go with him!

No matter who you play, there is still the issue of how you throw it. The point is Williams would throw to the receiver in stride, with a nice, catchable, well-placed ball. That is the same no matter who you are playing against because it's a matter of timing and accuracy between the QB and the receiver. It's not like he was heaving up prayers against crappy defenses and our receivers were catching them.

Williams...Olsen in mop up time gaining experience.

Williams can manage the game IMO with our weapons on offense...ie Coley, Duke, Yearby. Even hit the TE, hopefully Sandland has a big year for us.

EDIT: pretty much what was said above me
The misuse/waste of Sandland made me sad.

He's only eligible next year, right?

No doubt, but he still looked smooth to me and poised. Went through his progressions nicely IMO.

Hard to say at this point who it will be since we have nothing to judge Olsen on other than his 4 star rating and generic Golden pump up talk.

After spring we should know more obviously.

That being said, Williams impressed enough when he was in to not count him out. He seemed to be more decisive on his throws then Morris was which to me says he may have a better understanding off coverages and knowing pre-snap where he's going to go.
And with the skill we have at WR and RB that is really all we need from our QB.
So does Olsen understand coverages and make pre-snap reads better than Williams?
If he doesn't, are his intangibles far superior then Williams to nullify Williams knowledge advantage?

Lastly, who are players going to respond more to from a leadership perspective?

People point to the defense and talk about JAGs and lack of talent - do you want to start the 2-star kid whose most impressive offer was Memphis, or a 4-star kid in Olsen who was an Elite 11 guy and could have basically named his school?

I'd even throw Kayaa in over Williams. Another 4-star guy who has USC and UCLA hot on his ***, and was also invited to the Elite 11 camp.

Put the talent on the field.

No offense but with your logic Dewey should be the starter next year had he not hurt his back. Kid was and UA AA and Elite 11 QB. Also had an offer to UCLA and other big programs. Crow (who is not very good) beat him out for the #3 job.

I think Williams gets the nod next year. Olsen has an outstanding year his Rs Soph year, which will be Kayaa's Rs Frosh year. Olsen will probably be gone after his Rs Junior year.

nope. there are much much tighter windows and the game moves much faster against good teams. Williams looks like a serviceable backup to me

You obviously disagree. Do you think he will be a 3/4 yr starter? So Kaaya only plays 1 season here? Or do you think Kaaya will beat out Olsen?
