Next year qb

If Rosier is at center next yr, you can kiss all hope for a meaningful season goodbye.

We need Kaaya back for his sr yr and to pass the torch to N'Kosi Perry after a redshirt.

Glad to see someone has sense. Kaaya comes back ( and I think he will) we are in the playoff hunt. Without him we are a 2-3 loss team . If he makes the mistake and leaves then it will have to be Allison but Perry is the next elite QB we have. What is so funny is Kaaya is the best QB we have had since Doresy ( and it ain't close ) and so many want to run him off. I think he will see that next year could be the pay off for all his hard work and putting up with corches for 2 years and then learning a new system this year and he will want to come back.

Rosier is not a elite back up much less an elite starting qb. Doesn't have the arm or decision making needed.

What have you seen from Kaaya that makes you think we could make the playoffs with him at QB. He has yet to beat any team worth a **** in his three years here. He is not that good, and we do not need him to make the playoffs next year.

Its not about the playoffs right now. Rosier or allison aint leading the team to the playoffs either. If rosier was that good he would have took the job from kaaya.

I agree that we're not going to the final 4 with Kaaya. So if that's your standard for a successful season, you're right, we don't need him.

But the Rosier comparison to Kaaya is dopey. Kaaya is a top half of ACC level QB. He's proven that he can win the games we're supposed to win. We'll likely be a 9+ win team with him next year. Rosier is simply not a starting QB at this level. He barely won the backup job this year. If Kaaya leaves, it will be Jack or somebody else.

He ran it some in Denver as well. Still stand by the sentiment that offenses anchored in it are better suited w a mobile QB.

Right. They are downvoting you and its funny. Dumb fuqs

You dont NEED to have a running QB for a successful RPO but youre right, Its better with one. If you can sell a qb run fake off of the initial read to pass and pull the corner out of the perimiter to open up the run lane for the wr when you throw it to him it makes the play deadly af.

Petrino was killing it with Lamar Jackson doing just that.

Ive seen the Titans do it with Mariota too. RPO is nasty with a runner.

Well of course a QB being able to run helps ANY offense. It can't possibly hurt it. If Tom Brady could run like Vick it would help the Patriots offense but he doesn't need it.

Jesus man, it's not this hard

It's a RUN PASS option. Not zone read, not Run Run option. Either you give it to the running back or you throw it

lol. Calm down. Youre not teaching anyone in here man. I understand the concept quite well; and know the difference between it and the zone read. Quit your whining.

The RPO can also be a triple option concept where the qb can sell a run fake to open up the pass or take off if the lane is there.

Jesus man, its not this hard..... If you understand that football isnt rigid and defined by one simple thing...

That Brady/Vick part was just bad. Please stop.

Clearly SOMEONE needs to be teaching in here. The RPO is the RPO, the RPO cannot be a triple option because ding ding ding, the triple option is the triple option.

Football isn't rigid but concepts are concepts. You said the RPO doesn't need a QB who can run but it helps. You can LITERALLY say that about any offensive system. Thats like saying it helps the offense if all the WR run 4.3's or it helps the defense if all the LB ran sub 4.5. Well duh.

If you want to be a spread option offense then say that. But don't say dumb stuff like if we ran the RPO with some extra **** sprinkled in that turns it into a spread offense but ima still call it a RPO because it sounds good. You just come off sounding like a person who doesn't know what the **** they are talking about

You couldn't possibly be MORE DENSE!!

The RPO is still an OPTION concept.. that's why its called the run-pass OPTION. Mmkay?? It doesn't say how many runs are eligible within the play. That is why coaches have tweaked it to add the option of the QB keep.

Furthermore, the triple option is a scheme designed for three players to RUN THE BALL. With no concept of pass. So, despite the fact that there can be 3 options in an RPO you cant call it a triple option because it has a PASS option in it where the triple DOES NOT!

Who cares if you can say that about any offensive system? Like really. What is your point in saying that?

It doesn't make my statement any less valid but you keep repeating it......

Bich I didn't say anything about being a spread option offense. I was making a point about the RPO.

TBH I hate the RPO. I think its cheap and Ive been asking why Richt isn't running the shallow cross offense that won him ships.

You jumping to conclusions, making a fool of yourself trying to argue semantics with me, and you arrogant?

You making 804 look bad. You must be from Hanover or Petersburg.

FOH

Yep...I feel like Rosier is simply not a practice player but when the big lights come on its a different story

Bright lights? It was a horrible duke defense and he was just solid vs them.

You mean like the horrible ND defense and the not so great Fsu defense the Cardinals put 60 points on? If we had just solid qb play for this whole season we would of lost 1 game this year at Vt.

Our best scenario is for Brad to go the NFL. I base my thoughts on simply wins and losses in CRUCIAL MUST GAMES. Brad's record is simply horrible at best. Do you really want to watch another year of failure in big games, over or under throwing passes at an alarming clip, choking when we need him the most, very slow recognition of the pocket collapsing, poor foot work, and throwing that untimely interception at the worst possible moment? That is Brad's three year history at UM and I could care less if he throws for 50,000 yards and beats all of Dorsey's record. HE HAS NOT DELIVERED and another year will not change things a lot. Bring on the QB competition and good luck in the NFL Brad. ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND TO THE RESULTS?

Playoff hunt??? Oh buddy, are you in for a disappointment. Next season we will be worse than this season. We lose almost our entire starting secondary, we return a garbage OL, and we lose our best RB and our #1 WR.

And then Richt has to kick at least a five star or two off the team during the offseason for some undisclosed minor offense.

I doubt we win the Coastal in 2017

Fsu defense finished 28th on the year. Notre dame finished 42nd. So they were far from bad defenses. That duke defense was bad.

Dude ,it was his first start ever , he played well. You're acting like Duke was famu.

Their defense was horrible first start or not. Dude barely won the backup job but is getting pumped up because he can run. Kaaya is better than rosier. If rosier was so **** good he would have took the job just like walton took yearby job.

Can a player get better or is he doomed to be what he was back in August? Using the logic being applied to Rosier, Mark Walton is still simply a below average back who averaged 3.5 a carry against Power 5 opponents in 2015. Except we saw that he wasn't because he actually played. He was a much better player.

I don't know who is winning the job but I'm not using quotes from Richt in August to kill Rosier. The only time I've seen him play as a non-emergency, non-garbage time QB he looked pretty good. There was a rumor he was so bad in practice leading up to Duke that the staff asked Shirreffs if he would burn his redshirt to play. He said no. He may just be an awful practice player.

Ssshhhh don't try and bring any reason to this thread. Most popular player on every team is the back-up qb until people see the reasons they were the back-up.

Duke was 60th in total defense and 47th in scoring defense. They weren't horrible.

Well his facts are off. Duke wasn't a horrible defense last year. As far as scoring defenses they were the 4th best we played last year.
