Next year qb

Yep...I feel like Rosier is simply not a practice player but when the big lights come on its a different story

Bright lights? It was a horrible duke defense and he was just solid vs them.

Ssshhhh don't try and bring any reason to this thread. Most popular player on every team is the back-up qb until people see the reasons they were the back-up.

Well his facts are off. Duke wasn't a horrible defense last year. As far as scoring defenses they were the 4th best we played last year.

90th vs the pass. My facts are correct.

What did the offense he QB'd do against an average total defense and slightly above average scoring defense. 24 pts out of the 30 totals points. 2 passing TDs and 1 pick on the road in his first start. Second most points scored on them in their building. Rosier's 272 yards was the most yards passing given up by Duke in their stadium and 5th most overall out of 13 games.

Downplay the performance to suit your argument but not many backup QBs would've put that performance up.

90th or 88th depending on what site you look at means they gave up 240.9 yards per game. He surpassed their average by 30 yards on 29 throws.

in 2 years it will be Weldon. Red shirt next year, and then the starter as a RS freshman.

I know that some in this thread are stating that QB is plug and play in this day and age of college football but there is no way we can go into the 2018 season when, theoretically, this team is ready to make a serious run, with a RS QB with no experience. Maybe i'm crazy but that wouldn't make me feel very confident. Barring injury, whoever starts next season needs to be the guy for the next 2 years or more.

Duke home schedule that year was nc central, gt, bc, pitt, and wake. They also played some of the worst offenses in cfb that year and the defense was still ***. So what rosier did was not impressive.

If Rosier is at center next yr, you can kiss all hope for a meaningful season goodbye.

We need Kaaya back for his sr yr and to pass the torch to N'Kosi Perry after a redshirt.

Well, he beat FSU, on the road.

That's correct. In fact, he's done nothing impressive since then. Did you see the two interceptions he threw against FSU today?

That's correct. Rosier is just a placeholder until we get a QB who can beat FSU, especially on the road.

If we want to beat FSU, we will need Weldon. After all, his father played for FSU. I'm sure Cade knows all the secret signals and stuff that FSU uses. He'll know the secret Seminole War Dance their players do before every game, so we can steal it

Rosier has no chance.

I promise you it won't be Rosier.

I just love it when somebody pulls up one of these old threads.

I don't care if you all hate me.

I always thought Rosier had a chance to be a pretty decent starter. Mobile and can throw a pretty good pass. Noticed his inconsistency against Duke a few years ago, so I knew he could be streaky. Reminds me a bit of Craig Erickson in that regard. Still Craig was pretty effective for us. Let's see how he does the rest of the season. I'm more concerned about a supposedly terrific defense that can be run on. That's not surprising. Even our very best teams could sometimes be run on. I think it's a weakness of the attacking 4-3 defense we played under JJ, Dennis Erickson and Butch. I remember teams running a lot up the middle on our great '86 team. Ironhead Heyward gored us for over 200 yds at Pitt, that year.
