New players added to roster

Joe Brown Vid HL was not very well...

Lets see how camp goes...he seemed beat and tired on every play...

I agree, I thought his junior tape looked a lot better, to me anyway. The fact he actually qualified tells me he's not afraid of putting in work, but I don't have high hopes based off his tape. Hopefully he proves us wrong. He's here now, so I'm pulling for the kid. Some of these projects really need to start panning out though, at least as quality back ups.

What are expectation for Terry McCray? One of the least talked about prospects in the class but film is impressive seemed like everybody was expecting to him to flip to LSU the whole time but now that he is actually here still no real discussion. Maybe someone that has seen him play in person could better offer an opinion.

The following have been added to the roster today:

1. Michael Wyche, DT, 6'4" 330, #11 (Jr)

2. Christopher Herndon IV, TE, 6'4" 225, #23 (Fr)

3. Terry McCray, LB, 6'3" 205, #50 (Fr)

4. Joe Brown, DT, 6'4" 320, #55 (Fr)

5. David Njoku, WR, 6'4" 215, #86 (Fr)

Langham isn't listed yet. Surprised they have Njoku as a WR (instead of a TE). Also thought they were bringing in Brown as an OG.

Everyone knows/knew he was going to be a DT...that was a recruiting ploy for another DT they were chasing.

Michael Wyche - He has the resume to become a real impact player. Hoping on top of hope he is a true difference maker.

Joe Brown - I didn't see what Ghandi saw in him being soft - at least not in the highlight reel. What I did see is that he needs to hit the weights hard, and he plays too up right for a guy with his build. He didn't show much explosion either. Some of that's correctable. Hard to say what his work ethic will be until he arrives, but it won't take long to figure that out.

David Njoku - Thrilled they have him at receiver. They can always line him up in the slot like a TE, but that kid has elite athleticism (high jumps 7 feet). He is very fluid when he runs - no struggle or wasted motion. He should be a lot of fun to watch as we near the red zone.

Well; here's how Joe Brown tested out. It looks like he'll start at OL.

Joe Brown's results: 5.78-second average 40-yard dash (5.74 best 40 time in three tries), 5.15 20-yard shuttle, nine reps of 225, 315 squat, 232 power clean, 275 bench press, 22.5 vertical

This guy is 6'5 and 300+ lbs at least.

9-reps of 225lbs.
22" vertical
6-second 40
300lb squat

Like I said; this kid does not belong here.

not needed this year, but on the scout team. Another big body our guys can beat on, but let him get in the weight room and train for a year and see what happens. He may turn into a beast with the influence of the boys we have around him.

So under sanctions we are taking project players without upside? We offered a scholarship to a guy whose expected to just be scout team? Sonny Odogwu is already a project, we need guys who will play, or at least compete for it.

I guess at this point we have to be optimistic with the guy, but its a good thing Moten, Huertolou, and Wyche are on the team. They didn't get pushed around by average white kids. It isn't the kids fault though, anybody here would accept the scholarship too.

He's on scholarship.

Those are walk-on type numbers.

When you mix that in with his HL/game tape from Hudl; you don't see any redeeming qualities for this kid. This is why I keep saying that he'll just be a scholarship burden on the OL/DL for 2-years while they figure out he just doesn't have it.

Not sure why the agenda? Since being so negative on a board about the kid means ABSOLUTELY nothing why not just wish the kid luck. If you are just bursting at the seams to let everyone know how you feel (because we are all dying to know) just leave it at a generic "good luck to the kid, don't think he's going to contribute". To go out of your way to make this case, and then just keep at it is borderline pathological. Settle down. Go canes!

Ray Lewis came in via a very similar fashion. Now I'm not saying Ray Lewis is walking through that door, but if you have room for one, you take a flyer. If he doesn't work out, he moves on. Do that enough, at zero cost to your roster, and every once in a while a Ray Lewis, a Santana Moss, etc walk through the door.

****, some of the best players in CFB and even the NFL we're walk ons at once point, let alone later additions. Andre Wadsworth (FSU), Scott Fujita (Cal), Darren Woodson (ASU), Aeneas Williams (@ Southern!), etc.

Almost zero downside.

Not sure why the agenda? Since being so negative on a board about the kid means ABSOLUTELY nothing why not just wish the kid luck.

What does wishing this kid good luck and overlooking his ineptitude going to gain me if me being negative gains me nothing? Your approval? Free season-tickets? Free parking in the Orange Lot by the turnpike exit? A round of beers?

What is the tangible benefit of me ignoring the obvious elephant in the room (the kid doesn't belong here) and just wishing him good luck?

If you are just bursting at the seams to let everyone know how you feel (because we are all dying to know) just leave it at a generic "good luck to the kid, don't think he's going to contribute".

I am actually bursting at the seams to let you know how I feel.

And there is a simple reason for that.

The University is WASTING money ($50k per year in tuition, plus training table, travel, etc.) on a kid that simply doesn't belong. Why doesn't Miami have a training bubble? Why doesn't Miami have a better S&C program? Why can't the school hire better coordinators? The simple reason most of the times is money.

And the more money you have tied into clowns like Joe Brown, Tyler Grimsley, and Corey King (HEY, THAT's $150k RIGHT THERE!); the less money a school with a fixed budget like Miami has to invest in tangible and beneficial programs and upgrades.

To go out of your way to make this case, and then just keep at it is borderline pathological. Settle down. Go canes!

It's simple buddy, I have a right as a member of this forum to post my feelings. You, like many others, have the right to bypass said opinion and move on. The only one with pathological tendencies around here is you, sir.

Your crusade to suppress every bit of negative responses about the team, coaches, and kids is disgusting. If you don't like dissenting opinions, this is definitely not the place for you pal.
