New DT offer(2019)

Kid worked out personally for the staff and earned an offer. Gotta appreciate a kid who comes in and makes himself a wanted man.

Didn't play last season and STA spring game got canceled so he's been flying under the radar(which may be a good thing for us). I think we got another hidden gem in this guy and of course it doesn't hurt to keep the STA pipeline strong.

I like this take better than damarious good that’s for sure. Goes without saying though we need more star power(big name guys) in this recruiting class

- our blue chip percentage needs to go up period. Majority of the teams competiting year in and year out have over 50% blue chippers on their teams. That’s what we need to target actually well over that in each recruiting class. Last year was excellent now we need to do it again

Somebody in another thread was talking about a "DJ Ivey" situation. I think THIS is a DJ Ivey situation.

Kid is hidden in this region and at that school off the radar because he misses his junior year. So only the local schools who have 12 months to hover around campuses would know about him.

DJ would've blown up if he had JR year tape.
Sam Brooks had tape but the injury scared schools off.

Probably closer to the Ivey story with this kid.
But in all three cases, glad we got a leg up on the competition.

he is athletic, this staff seems ot be very good at evaluations. im fine with this as long as he comes in with some others and can be developed at his pace.

Think we are pretty much just focused on Richards, Bogle, Neal, Wright, and McIntosh as far as star power.

I don't think we have much of a chance w anyone else, and I'm not sure the staff cares. They seem perfectly content w these 3 star athletes at certain spots. I think MJ, Rosseau and Garvin have sold them on this kind of model.

His get off is quick. Playing at a school like STA means you know he's going against great competition. I want to see more from him, but I'm definitely OK w/ this offer. I think there's a couple of 3 star guys we picked up that will be finishing as 4 stars.

So when he gets bumped up to 4 star status, he'll be a "Blue Chip" prospect?

I would have thought they would evaluated more

They've been at STA all spring evaluating him. He came today and dominated camp. He's coming off a broken leg in his junior year so that tells you the staff loves him and wanted to jump on him before the rest of the country caught up.

If they were just so-so on him then they certainly would have kept evaluating.

AI on the take:
He’s pretty well built. No real bad weight. I like his first step and he’s got some pretty good pass rushing moves for a kid his age. I like the take. He outperformed Calijah Kancey (who could have earned an offer Saturday) and looked much better than what we saw out of both Denzel Daxon and Renato Brown this spring. I think he makes sense if you pair him with Braylen Ingraham and someone else.

Those 3 guys you mentioned were 4 stars on multiple sites
