New depth chart

You are all a bunch of A**holes for dogging AJ like that. By all accounts he's a good kid and he has a good grasp of the mental side of the position. He just has physical limitations. Most of us on this board have physical limitation. His numbered got called and he did the best he could. Its not his fault that there isn't a better option at his position. That's on the coaches. The kid's a Cane. The kid is family. Its enough to point out he isn't getting the job done, but y'all don't have to dog him.

You're right he is a cane. Its just so dam frustrating to watch.
Agreed. Public criticism is unavoidable due to the popularity of the sport (one more reason they should be paid), but some dudes on here just go to far. They are still kids.

I'm more upset with our defensive coaches for putting him out there knowing this could happen on such a huge stage with an elite opponent. He had no chance to succeed Sat night.

Always a lot of finger pointing after losses. A lot of Highsmith hate at the safety position, but go watch Deon Bush on the play that Freeman scored the touchdown with 3:47 left in the 3rd quarter. Bush takes a terrible angle and read, and as a result, Freeman scored.

Yeah, we are not where we need to be at the safety position to start winning titles again, but we got a hardworking group and they have been playing pretty good this year.

That's why I blame the coaching staff more. Bush isn't right, he is still hurt. Until he gets right play more corners. We have those, just no safeties. Play RJ with 3 corners. **** AB and Crawford love to hit.

After Highsmith leaves, we have 4 years of Ray Lewis' kid to look forward to.

Nepotism sucks.

LULZ. So you know RL3 sucks based off of what?

He's short, small, and doesn't run fast? He only got a scholarship offer because of his dad?

Did he only get invited to the Army AA game because of his dad? Have you ever seen him play? You clowns can go ahead and write off Ray's clone before he's played a snap, but I won't.

Am i the only wondering why we have seen less and less of FIGATRON as the season has progressed, did I miss him having a bad game or something.

No one's getting personal with him. His play is being discussed. Everyone acknowledges he's a great kid, a credit to UM, and we all love his dad. But this is a football message board, and there will be commentary.

RLIII got invited to the Army AA game?

I know Deion Sanders Jr. got invited to the UA game because of his dad.

Yes, he only got invited to the AA game because of his dad. And what did he do at that game? What were his stats/highlights?

And he's not Ray Lewis' clone, not even close. He's a full head shorter than his dad, and probably about 80 pounds skinnier with a much smaller frame, not nearly the speed.

He's more like his mom.

Did you see Ray when he first got to UM? He weighed about 185 pounds. He's a clone of his dad in his work habits. Have you seen the videos of them working out together and how Jr. hangs on his dad's every word and does everything to emulate him? I'm not talking about his eye color when I say he's a clone of his dad. Go ahead and write him off though.

I'm not here to convince you to open your mind up a little and not be a clown. You can think in whatever distorted fashion you choose. I'm gonna see what he does before I come to such concrete conclusions about him.

If he can put on 70 lbs and grow 6+ inches then maybe he will be a clone of his dad. Work ethic is one thing, god given ability is another.

But god given ability aside.... let me ask you this, why did his dad put him in that little private school Lake Mary? Why not go to Kathleen like his daddy?

That tells me everything I need to know about RL3 and how hard his dad is going to push him. His dad is going to baby and protect him, not throw him to the wolves. Lake Mary is where you go to get your butt pampered, not where a south florida kid goes to become a great football player. His parents will pamper and protect him, and he'll never develop the killer instinct, the toughness, that made his dad great.

Here are a few explanations for curious personnel:

1) unlike in the 80s-2000s, this scheme on defense is extremely complicated. Underclassmen lack the mental understanding to play in it, and therefore the kids who actually grasp it are always going to be the ones who have been here longer, regardless of actual physical ability. It's frustrating. Guys like Vilma and DJ and Vince were able to contribute sooner bc it didnt require a complex understanding to play in that D.

2) AG is a positive force guy. I don't think he slams whiteboards. So when guys play horribly, his solution is to build up confidence by giving them chances to succeed. Especially upperclassmen.

3) There is still an emphasis on whoever works the hardest plays. While its a good concept to build a program, at some point if we want to win we have to play the best players, not the ones who earn a black jersey bc they tried hard. Controversial subject but some guys play better than thy practice and vice versa.

4) there's not enough depth still

People asking for Gunter to move to safety are silly. Between him and Tracy, we've got two of the better corners in the conference and they're still developing. Can't wait to see how much better they can be in 2014. I can imagine D'nofrio letting them loose more often to play tight press coverage, which will give us tremendous flexibility in what we scheme. I'd rather see Rodgers, Bush and Jenkins get healthy and also improve over the off-season. Gotta get stronger and bigger.

Charles Woodson struggled with the move to safety from CB.

What makes us think Gunter can do it with no harm?

I know its not easy to make that move, I understand that. I just want to know how the turds do it so well. They all play corner, nickel back and safety within their scheme.

I'm not sure, but I think Muschamp wants that flexibility from all his DBs so they practice all positions in the secondary. I'm not sure about that, but I think I may have seen that said somewhere.

Somethings going to have to give soon as we have 4 excellent cb's in Howard, Burns, Gunter, and Crawford (who might be the best cover one)
With a healthy Bush and Jenkins next year, this is going to be a huge strength and a competative group.

With any pass rush we will be one of the best pass defenses in the nation

Hating on RL3 now is ridiculous.... Let him get 2/3 off season in and as a redshirt jr decide if he's producing anything he'll I'll be happy if he's a special teams star tearing it up and is never a true "starter"
