As recruiting rankings continue to grow more accurate, they're now to a point at which they can help tell us which teams are ready to compete for titles.

Every BCS champion since recruiting rankings could be accurately tracked (2005, or four classes after Scout joined Rivals in rating players) has met a benchmark: it's recruited more blue-chips (four- and five-star players) than lesser-rated players over its four previous signing classes.

And since those blue-chips are rare -- roughly 300 of them per year, with more than 10,000 scholarships to fill nationwide at the FBS level -- the teams that get blue-chips crush those who sign a lower-rated level of recruits.

Coaching stability, attrition management, player development, scouting, support and a host of other factors have a lot to do with a team's success. But even doing all of those things well, it is very hard for a program to stay at an elite level if it's not bringing in a lot of top talent.

So: what percentage of signees for each contender over the last four classes is made up of blue-chips? And what can we learn from that data?

"Stars don't matter!"

Signed, The same ******** who were holding a group jerkoff session over our class ranking last November.

Hypocritical **** boys.

This class might be ****tier than Golden's coaching ability, if you could believe it.

BC's O-Line helped lead the way for a 2000 yard rusher.

But they probably don't know much about O-Line talent.

Tulane had a 2,000 yard rusher a couple of years ago. Want any of their OL?

:p

I'm a Tulane alum, so I saw Troy play. Kropog has played in a handful of NFL games in 5 years, but has also been on the Titans practice squad for a couple of years. He's the only OL from Forte's OL to sniff the NFL. But, yes, you're right, I would take him, he's nasty and was a **** good OL for Tulane.

This staff has given me no reason to be skeptical of their recruitment of OL. Welcome to the U, young man.

Why? Outside of Flowers, none of this staff's recruits on the OL have even played. I think Isadora is gonna be good, but they aren't to the point where you can trust their ability to identify talent.

Great News!!!!!
All the three stars we have in the 2015 class, that currently have offers from another school, de-comitted and chose another offer that they currently carry. We are left with only one three star that hold zero offers. However, he destroyed the Rivals camp last weekend and his recruiting is heating up. Hopefully a loser like Alabama or Michigan St. will come in and grab him. lol Early bird gets the worm. We had everyone locked up early last year and got out early on this class to SEE the 2015 kids. Recruiting has changed and at least half of our current commits will be 4*'s by signing day. FWIW my favorite recruit currently is PERRY. (3* with zero other offers) I'm truly thrilled that our coaches are out early and pulling kids. This is going to be a great class. We complain when we are not the first to offer, now we are reaching because we are in early? :/
BOWMAN ARCHIBALD Alabama
KEVIN FEDER Michigan St. (injured last season)
HAYDEN MAHONEY Boston College
Emonee Spence Auburn
RYAN FINES USF
LEEWARD BROWN USF
CHARLES PERRY NONE

The important part is in blue, not red.

We've had a lot more upper class man ahead of most of them, this year we should see more of them imho.

There are way better OL left on the board, to take this kids commitment this early is a mistake if true, he is more of a plan b/c type. The kid benches 300lbs and squats 400lbs, he will be eaten alive by FSU dline and Va tech. An I won't even discuss those three manchild 4* DT's UVA has landed in the the last 2 years. UM is in a LOS arms race and bringing a twinner knife type to a big boy gun fight is a good way to get fired.

For instance Luke Hiers from Lake Wales, FL is the nations #2 center for 2015 and has been to UM 4 times over the year and was ready to commit back in the fall but the staff told him to wait.

Go Canes

Just STFU you fuggin' moron ! You move from board to board after being kicked off one of them. After your Newjersey.com fiasco anybody with a sane brain would have shut up and stayed low forever. Year after year..after year...after year it's always the same stupidity, trying to sound like an expert when you should be taking your meds. Fuggin' clown !!!!!!!!!!
Remember when you couldn't "reveal your sources" because it would have made them angry ? Huh ? No wonder you were raped by a squirrel.

I think you're right, and I think guys like Isadora, Gadbois, and Gall can all contribute. My point is, they haven't contributed yet, so we shouldn't just assume that Golden is an ace at identifying OL talent.

He was also offered by Boston College, so that's a little better. Anyway, what about his actual game makes this pickup a freakin' horror show?
