New 2014 DT Signee; Joe Brown

Worst case scenario he is body for practice and depth. We didn't take any reaches in this class and it's a position of need. Why not roll the dice !

At the end of the day its 1 schollie and with his size if he can actually build up strength then you're right at worst he can be practice for olineman so its whatever.

We can't waste a shollie on a practice player ... We need Impact DTs

Pickups this late in the game usually aren't your starters so he wont play much to all this year. He'll RS a year and have 2 offseason weight training programs under his belt before he earns any significant PT. With our numbers better now at the DLine position we can afford reaches like this to RS.

this commitment is the epitome of the state of this program right now

of course. its not flipping michael wyche who was a handpicked player of orgeron, or getting moten who is a stud, or courtel jenkins telling osu and psu no thanks, or getting heurtelou out of nowhere.

clearly they wanted another guy and clearly Al has been doing this for 4 years. Taking scraps, trying to sell it and then acting surprised when our D gets its **** pushed in. I love our DL class. Just not sure why we'd bother at this point. Save the schollie for next year

Joe Brown dominated the line of scrimmage in the video below. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman had nine solo tackles — four of them coming on the first drive of the second half before Davis extended the lead. Brown also caused a fumble at the end of the first half that junior linebacker Trayvon Sanders scooped and scored from 35 yards out. It was the third forced turnover of the night by the Pirate defense to make it 22-6 at halftime.

You really think we still won't recruit impact players?

Look the schollys always have a way working themselves out..

And this cat ain't taking no scholly from an impact DT that wants in..

As of today - he's a no risk only a reward type of get.

They have scholly reductions.Because they took Brown, they'll have to give up one more scholly in the future. Not that hard to figure out.

This is a terrible move.

Over or under 15 pages on a kid we wont remember in a month?

He is going to be our team for the next 3-5 years

Never to be heard from again.

Takes a spot up when we are in time of scholly reductions.
